How did this phrase come about? I'm reading a Lakers board and seeing the following: "This reminds me of one of my favorite sports quotes of all time. Dikembe was in a Georgetown bar and allegedly uttered the immortal phrase, "Who wants to sex Mutombo?" as a pickup line. " "Ha! I've heard that one too, but the way I heard it was that he used to walk down the dorm hallways and yell that. Doors would open and girls would come running out. Urban myth, reality, or somewhere in between?"
i heard he went into a club during his Georgetown days and yelled "Who wants to suck the d*** of Mutombo" with all the different versions I'm guessing 1) it happened once or never & 2) it wasn't as dramatic and outstanding as it appears now after all the revisions
There was a website about this at one point. It got such a ridiculous amount of hits it ran out of bandwidth in like, hours. Here's another explanation that kind of echoes what was posted. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dikembe_Mutombo "Mutombo is attributed with coining the phrase, "Who wants to sex Mutombo?" while seated at the bar near the entrance to The Tombs, Georgetown's famous student bar, which he allegedly developed as a pick-up line during his Georgetown days. The phrase has achieved cult status among basketball fans of both genders, though there is no evidence he ever said it and it is likely an urban legend."
