This horribly bad loser band has a week long gig on Conan O'Brien. I've listened twice, and this band is, at least live, the worst band I've seen in a long time.... The song's and the fat ass singer are bad enough, but Tassle's on a grown man's shirt? Dude, FYI. We haven't gone that retro yet, moron.
First of all, stop posting drunk. Second of all, they only have 2 members. Finally, they use instruments that predate 1963. Good nght.
The White Stripes suck and are the most overrated band in the history of recorded music. Period. Oh yes, and no one would even know about this band had they not had that damn lego video. For a band tht everyone seems to think is "all about the music," they had to rely on a video to get them press.
i like the White Stripes, nice catchy tunes SCF - perhaps if mainstream radio/media didn't only just play soft pop mass produced music then bands who actually play music (instead of singing through a computer to backing tapes) wouldn't have to resort to gimmick to get attention
I think their latest album "Elephant" is one of the best rock albums since Nirvana - Nevermind! THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These kids, at least the singer Jack, is one talented mother f^ker! Anyone seen the new video to Seven Army Nation? Cool as ****! http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/videos.asp?artistID=1042272
I saw it last night. It kinda reminded me of the cover art from the Clockwork Orange LP. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but at least it wasn't like every other damn video on MTV2.
Oily - great clip, great song and very nice album not sure about your best album since Nevermind though, for me that went the Strokes album from 2001
So does anyone know for sure if they are: A - Husband and wife. I read he took HER last name when they got married. or B - Brother and sister? They sure do look alike!
a mystery this from www.whitestripes.net One of a new breed of back-to-basics rock acts to emerge from Detroit, Michigan, USA, the White Stripes comprises enigmatic bass-free duo Jack White (b. John White, Detroit, Michigan, USA; guitar/vocals) and Meg White (b. Detroit, Michigan, USA; drums). The Whites, variously assumed to be brother and sister or husband and ex-wife, but both denied, formed their new band in 1997. Judging from their facial looks they probably are brother and sister. this from a recent (21st april) mtv interview And that's the thing with Meg — whom Jack still introduces as "my big sister" — she is a beloved figure, which makes up for what can be spotty drumming/singing. It just wouldn't be the same at a White Stripes concert without Jack facing Meg directly as he sings, shooting her signals with his body and facial expressions about when to pick up the beat or stay with him or get back on track, with her smiling sweetly through it all.
