Sorry tried making this a poll with 4 options. Brian Moehler, Jim Cassell, Chris Sampson, or Other.

    Moehler.

    The rotation should be:
    Oswalt
    Backe
    Rodriguez
    Chacon
    Moehler

Sampson, Cassel, Wright, Geary, Brocail, and Villarreal should be your bullpen.

    No Byrdak or Valverde?

Agree on the rotation. We've been carrying 12 pitchers, so agree on the pen minus Geary until he's healthy. When Geary's healthy, send down either Sampson or Cassel dependent upon who is pitching better -- though if Moehler starts screwing up that creates some tough decisions.

I would send down JR Towles and bring up JR House. I would release Dave Borkowiski and bring up Runelvys Hernandez. Send down Chris Sampson when you activate Wandy. Send down Cassel when Geary comes back. So the roation would be Backe, Chacon, Wandy, Oswalt, and Moehler. This pen needs some more power arms and Hernandez has been great his last 6 starts. I really don't know why they called up Cassel. He is just a worst version of Chris Sampson.

Brian Moehler has proved he deserves the spot. Giving up 3 runs or less in his last 4 starts does exactly what a 5th starter should: keeps you in the ballgame and gives you a fighting chance to win in the late innings (which the Stros have done in 3 of his 4 starts).

Yes, let's call up the third catcher at Round Rock, that's a brilliant idea. House is a 1B, who tried to catch early in the season and was awful defensively, thus was moved back to first.

Moehler has been more effective as a starter so far, than he was out of the pen.

He's not overpowering but he throws strikes, lets his defense do their jobs and keeps us in the game for 5 or 6 innings.

I'm sure it’s just a typo, but it is actually JACK Cassel.

How do you know he is awful defensively? Did you watch any of the games? I doubt it. Did you think that maybe Quintero is just better defensively so he gets most the starts there? I know House isn't great defensively but he can hit. Towles needs a break and send him down to AAA where he gets around 5 starts a week and let him get his confidence back.

This is why I shouldn't rush through posts.

Substitute Burdak and Valverde for Wright and Villarreal. All will be well.

Agreed. I would much rather have Sampson in there than Villarreal.

i say have cassel as 5th starter, he was alright early in the season. get rid of sampson somehow, get rid of borkowski, get rid of nieve, wesley wright is allowed to stay b/c we need diversity.

I saw him today. He was awful. Allowed a double steal. I don't know how many dropped pitches he had. Yes, he's hitting. But his defense is so unbelievably bad that they cannot risk a roster spot with him right now.

Towles is going to get all the time he needs because there is nothing behind him. Quintero has been playing 1B lately to get him ab's. His average is hovering around .200 right now.

On the thread topic, right now the rotation should be...

    Oswalt
    Wandy
    Backe
    Chacon
    Moehler

If Moehler becomes Brian Moehler again, let Cassell start. He has been the most solid and consistent pitcher in AAA so far.

    Moehler or Cassell
Cassell will be a starter by next year maybe the year after if we can get someone via trade or free agency why not let him start now he was solid in his two starts IMO
