Who knows which Western teams will be playoff bound?

We all know the western conference is very competition. But even more amazingly this season. As of today, all the teams are .500 or above. With the exception of Houston Rocket, which is deservedly number one (of course, you know why), the rest is just jumping up and down all the time.

In any night, you can never predict which team will come out on top, not to mention the final lucky eight!

Utah and Phoenix seem to be fading away fast; and what's wrong with Memphis and LA Clipper? Will the aging Faker be able to fan off constant bombardment from the youth? Could Dallas' all offence prevail over the Rocket's swarming defence? Man, it is going to be an exciting season! I can't wait to see the final eight...

The east conference is too weak, and west teams collect wins on playing east.

Interesting you have Utah on the playoff picture. It was predicted as dead last before the season started; but now I have to agree with you after their excellent display in the preseason and the early season.

Mind you, I am not sure whether Seatle is coming up. I really like that Murrary kid and they beated Garnett and company at Minnesota. Also, the rookie Antony really lightens up Denver. Do they have a shot? Maybe I go with the current leaders with some adjustments:

    1. LA Lakers
    2. Dallas
    3. San Antonio
    4. Houston
    5. Sacramento
    6. Portland
    7. Minnesota
    8. Utah / Seattle (tie for number of wins)

Ah, it ends up so similar to yours anyway.

Utah doesn't have the talent to last a whole season playing like this. They've overachieved so far but will fade fast. Seatle appears to be a good team though.

good call, I'd forgotten about them, I think they will scrape in to the 8th spot, espcially once Allen gets back into the mix

Surprising, nobody mentions Phoenix. Where is their rookie of the year? Judging from his team's performance this year, his honour looks like fluke. Maybe Yao was robbed last year.

The tough part for Phoenix is, they do not improve much while everybody else in the West have upgraded their teams one way or the other. The Sun will have hard time even close to a playoff berth.

Did anybody notice that after 6 games, Amare's assist number is a big O. Absolutely no assist from Amare, amazing!

    1. Lakers-they're pretty damn good this year.
    2. Spurs-I hate them but they still have Duncan.
    3. Mavs-Will probably start playing better with time.
    4. Sacramento-Wait til C-Webb gets back.
    5. Wolves-Garnett will still carry them, Sam/Spree=nice addition.
    6. Rockets-Our D will carry us through the season.
    7. Portland-Could be higher, but there's trouble in Portland.
    8. Suns/Sonics-I think the Sonic's play is a fluke, beat LAC twice.

Of course the Rockets win the Championship cause of our 6th seed.

Yes, Amare is a one-dimensional player. He is really good at dunk. But for an inside game player, his FG% is 43% only with no assist. It tells the story all he does is to go hard inside and dunk.

Unfortunately for the Sun, it looks like they are getting our prescription of last year. For example, in tonight's game, they had a total of 14 assists and losing to teams like Atl at home. That's suck. Hope they will continue doing that when we play them on Friday.

Sonics are winning without their best player. Hate to say it, but Lewis is looking like an all-star and this Flip Murray guy is playing amazing.

The Suns still have a ton of talent.

What about the Grizzle too? They beat us on our homecourt. The Jazz are playing well. The West is just loaded.

I wouldn't worry about Amare Stoudamare giving the Rockets a lot of damage. We have the best kept secret in the NBA.

    We have . . . . John Amaechi.

Yes, I share that too. In particular, the Grizzlies will be awesome in future. It may not necessarily making too much noise this year but look at how many high draft picks they have loaded their team. They can their their bench against anybody at any time. Whether they can improve with consistency to make the playoff this year is another matter. But they could easily dominate the East, just like anybody else in the West.

Yes, Tanner, that's true. Amaechi has a lot of energy. But honestly speaking, he is one of the players that I can't read very well. He is everywhere when he plays; but he does not shoot the ball well. So far, he has been kept secret. I don't recall he actually plays any regular season game for us. JVG prefers to use Ford rather than Amaechi in the Miami game. Hmm, interesting to see how that develop.
