I'm talking about IQ-wise. Not basketball IQ. Just real-life IQ. Who is the smartest person (or seems like the smartest person) in the NBA? I'd have to go with Brent Barry. He looks really sharp.
J.R. Smith But no for real, i'd like to take this opportunity to show Deke some love. I know he doesn't exactly count anymore but he speaks nine languages and earned a double-degree from Georgetown. Pretty impressive. Current NBA players? Battier or Emeka Okafor
Wasn't kobe a 1300 sat dude? I know the test is not a true indicator, but i think he's a pretty sharp dude.
I'm just saying for a guy that went to the pro's out of high school. He seems like a sharp dude to me. I guess we can say all the Duke guys are sharp because they went to duke. Its really a non bearing question with little relation to on court play.
Try 1080. Players as talented as Kobe don't need to develop "real world" IQ, in terms of budgeting, human relationships, handling different situations... whereas a scrub like Battier would have to use all of his smarts and "humble attitude" to make it in the NBA and the real world. So by lack of talent alone I would go with Shane Battier.
I think anybody that comes right out of high school into the NBA should be discredited from being mentioned in this thread.
Ok, in all seriousness? Here are some of the guys I perceive as being smart: Battier Nash Kidd Duncan Ginobli Kobe Allen Dirk Scola to name some. DD
