It was pointed out in a previous thread that this is the real question.

    Omar Asik, defensive rebounder extraordinaire?

Jeremy Lin, distributor with occasional flashes of Linsanity?

Chandler Parsons, good all around player and goddamned handsome man?

Hard to say, but I would pick Asik.

I think Parsons is a better all-around player, but without Asik the Rockets lose way more games than if they didn't have Parsons.

Lin. Asik frequently takes a vacation against the better centers in the league plus is extremely one dimensional. Parsons relies heavily on Lin for his offense. 75% of his field goals are assisted.

I'd say Omer is probably the most unique, making him the second most valuable. Big, strong, defensive anchor rebounding centers just aren't as common as they used to be.

Jeremy Lin has a high upside and I think can become a very solid true point guard in time. He has continued to get better and I expect big things from him.

Chandler Parsons is just about the best type of solid role-playing secondary scorer you can ask for. Efficient scorer, doesn't need the ball in his hands, good defender, great contract, and very young.

Yeah, Asik is extremely one dimensional at the thing that at makes us tolerable on defense.

Dude is averaging a double double.

    Asik.

i'm a lin fan but its clear that without asik the team would struggle heavily on the boards. you need someone to do the rebounding...so its clear asik is the most valuable. he might even be as important as harden because technically speaking there are other players that can score but there certainly aren't any other good rebounders on the team >.>

Asik? Lol. When we actually have a good defense I'll believe that.

Tell that to Tyson Chandler who took a defensively poor NY team into a above average defending team in 2011 season, and won DPOY. One good defensive center can make a LOT of difference, look at Gasol or Ibaka
