I went with Kelly with McNair a close second; in time he may surpass Kelly. Moon would probably be third in my book.
So ...is it the greatest QB overall, who happened to play in Houston?? Or is it the QB who was the greatest while playing in Houston???
Warren Moon 70,000 career passing yards, 5 Grey Cups. But as a native Albertan, I may be slightly biased.
Warren Moon was not only the best QB to play in Houston, he was one of the two greatest football players to represent this city on the grid iron period. FYI....the other would be Earl Campbell. In fact, these two guys are so great, the Texans should even retire there numbers as no other professional in Houston football player should be allowed to wear these numbers. Hell, even they should even erect statues of these two in the green area between Reliant Stadium and the Astrodome as a way to link Houston's football past with its present and future. Moon's statue could be of him launching a deep ball as he runs form the defense. Campbell's statue could be of him running through the Rams defense as they tore his jersey off.
tigereye.. might have to start a thread on that sometime soon.. personally I too wouldn't mind them paying some tribute to the greatest in houston ever at reliant.. it's just such a shame for these greats to not have a team to call home.. last year i was in tenn when they honored elvin bethea at the titans game.. and i was thinking.. THIS SHOULD BE IN HOUSTON!
or, maybe one where he's watching the afc champiosnhip game from his couch... please, for everyone's sake, don't put moon on the same page as campbell.
