Assuming obviously that Harden, Howard, Parsons, and Beverley are the 4 best players on this team, who is the fifth best player?
people will confuse talent with value to the team. This is why these polls never work unless of course, that was OP's intent
I actually think Terrence Jones has been outperforming Parsons on a per minute basis and the numbers support that, Chandler just plays a ton of minutes. I think the top four is obvious with Harden-Howard-Jones-Parsons.
But for consistency, Terrence Jones could arguably be 3b on the team. He's not, because he's inconsistent. But when he's in a stretch of good games, he's definitely that good. So i vote Jones.
No hidden intent here. I've posted 3 polls which show that the majority of us don't want Jones to start games or finish games. I posted this poll to see if it matches up to those polls (it should approximate them).
Probably below Lin and DMo. Beverley is one of those guys who could be out of the league in two or three years. He's just a part that fits well on this team because of what he brings, defensively and intensity wise.
Flame me if you want, I still have Beverley behind Lin. Both guys bring a replaceable skill-set, the question is which one is less replaceable. I'm not a LOF, I'm just looking at things objectively. You're probably always gonna have to pay more for a 6th man instant offense type player than you are a hustling, defending, open 3pt shooting point guard. Say, Mario Chalmers vs Jamal Crawford/JJ Redick. You can argue if you want that Beverley is better than Chalmers and Lin crappier than Crawford/Redick. It still isn't a big enough margin for me to go the other way on.
Talent wise Beverley should not be one of your top four players. Asik, Lin, and Jones could fight for that position. So I won't be voting on this one since the top four players stated is flawed. In terms of importance, Patrick Beverley is no doubt one of our key players. But in terms of talent, Beverley is not one of them.
Agreed... I think Lin's skillset is harder to replace. Put him on a bad team like the Lakers or Jazz (I love saying that), and he can be a 1st or 2nd option. Beverley is a complementary player. I love him on our team, but I don't expect him to get a higher salary than Lin.
