Is Kevin G. a Free agent This upcomming year? When is Duncun a Free agaent? And if Barkly retires, and Dream stays for the next season, how much money can we spend on free agents? Also if they both retire, how much money can we spend? Thanx guys. Go Rockets
I think the Rockets should hold their ground for a while. We seem to have a young foundation that we can build upon. Rudy has a shot blocking god in Cato and a legend at the point guard position. The rest of the team is very shaky in my opinion. So we need to draft some more players and then work on chemistry. I would like to see the Rockets draft a high scoring Power Forward the first year and then a decent small forward to fill out the Roster the following year. Then build some chemistry over a three year period and make a run. In the third year we could sign a free agent to put us over the top. Mobley should be a good sg. He is the mystery player in all of this, but his emotion will always be there, so I'm willing to roll the dice on that. Right now I'd keep these players for the bench...Drew, Anderson, Rodgers, and Hamilton (maybe).
We will not have any significant cap space next year. Even if Hakeem retires, we still have to include a large proportion of his remaining contract in our salary cap. Coupled with that, rumour has it that we agreed to pay Maloney the bulk of his remaining contract in the next 2 years. By my calcs, our payroll will be around $39-40 (Salary Cap will be between $35-40 Million next year) even after Barkley retires, and that doesn't include any money for re-signing Mobley who is a FA after this year. Don't expect the Rocks to be signing any big name FA next year unless it includes a trade.
The WAy we threw money at Baloney and Cato, we won't be able to sign any star level free agent. "Drew, now you are shooting 40%, how about a 5 years 30 millions extension?"-- Rudy.
Yep... good thing we got yao. I hope this shows... we can't just settle. Morey please work your Magic somehow...
