I'm not talking about overall talent, getting teammates into the game, etc. I'm talking about. Who is the best SCORER in the league? Who has the scoring talent and mentality to put up big point totals consistently in games?

I know many of you may deny it, but there has been some serious discussion about whether Durant is a better scorer than LeBron. It is a given however, that we all know LeBron may be the better overall player, however... is Durant the better scorer?

To make this poll fair, I will also add in Kobe for all you Laker fanboys.

    Melo, no question.

He can score from anywhere on the court.

It's not necessarily their range and versatility when it comes to scoring, I'm talking about actually putting up the numbers. Statistically, Durant is leading the league. LeBron followed closely behind.

Kobe still has my vote for now. But Durant is very very close. LeBron is not a consistent threat from deep yet, he shoots a pretty good percentage from three only because opponents respect his drive to the basket (and fear the refs' Bron-loving whistle).

Pure points, has to be Durant by a hair over LeBron.

If you factor in the offensive output of assists it would be LBJ but I'm guessing that isn't what you're talking about.

I think Carmelo might get more votes because he is definitely more one dimensional then Lebron or Kobe. Cause he doesn't excel in any area besides scoring people tend to think he is the best pure scorer.

I would say Kobe. The guy did score 83 points.

81* and it was 4 years ago.

Melo has the best post game out all of them. He's also beat both Lebron and Durant head to head.

Don't know why he only has 3 votes.

I understood this question to be who is the best pure scorer right now.

Kobe is not the best pure scorer right now. He's not even the third best scorer right now. He is on the decline and likely will never have another season like he did in his prime.

    Lebron. No doubt.

He was the league leader all season until recently and he does it on fewer shots and with a higher shooting percentage than Durant. If he wanted to only average five assists a game he could probably average 35 ppg and still possibly shoot over 50%. Durant couldn't do that and neither could Kobe or Melo or Wade.

Chuck and Kenny discussing the subject. Kenny said Melo makes the toughest shots and Chuck said that it's a toss up between Melo and Durant.

Kenny said Hakeem was the master at making tough shots, good looking jet.

I voted for Durant...he is a scoring machine from the perimeter and driving inside because of his size and length. the other weakness right now is he is not super strong cant back guys down so his post game is not at the level of carmelo anthony.

Kobe in his prime was the best flat shooter and scorer, but today you can argue that KD is the best scorer in the NBA, lebron has the body aggressiveness, and the athleticism to score anywhere around the basket, but am gonna go with KD.

Melo and Durant are neck and neck for best pure scorer, they can make any shot any time. Kobe and Lebron can do just about everything at a high level but are asked to do so much that scoring isn't their only purpose.

just saw a stat in the denver-lakers game. lebron averages 7.5 pts in the 4th, 1.3 ahead of the 2nd player. he's just ridiculous.
