I was talking to my wife, and trying to express to her how great a second year player Steve Francis has become. Usually, I can compare a young player to a well known player to describe what I feel, but Stevie Franchise is becoming a rarity- he is a unique talent. I will try to compare him nonetheless. Steve Francis = 1. Isiah Thomas with hops 2. Stephon Marbury without the selfishness 3. Duke's Jason Williams with maturity 4. Jason Kidd with flair 5. Gary Payton minus the attitude (although Payton plays killer defense that Steve should aspire to) Who does Stevie remind you of? ------------------ Bob Rainey is my hero!
Jason Kidd with better handles and much, much, much more scoring ability. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Like you said,Stevie is such a unique talent. While he could easily light it up from the 2,he obviously is on his way to becoming the best point in the league. It is a testament to his immense talent and commitment. If we are going to compare Francis strictly to point guards,I would have to say he has some Tiny Archibald, Kevin Johnson, and Oscar Robertson in him. With his defense and overrall grasp of the game improving, the sky is the limit...Eventual destination..Springfield,Mass. ------------------ [This message has been edited by hardwood (edited March 19, 2001).]

Allen Iverson. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
a better version of michael jordan or for some reason he reminds me of that big buff unknown actor guy on the simpsons... he often uses the name troy mclure or something like that ------------------ "Wahooo"-homer I'm not only a fan but I'm also the bartender at clutchcity chat For the last time I'm not Tybrave!!!!!
Iverson fer sure in that neither one of them are big men and they both have a tremendous amount of energy.NON STOP! ------------------ Whatever you want to do, you have to do something else first.
I like the Lever comparison. Man, that guy was a rebounding fool! ------------------ I am an invisible man.
i'd go with: 1. Isiah Thomas with hops they have the same game. steve may be a better rebounder, but everything else is the same. ------------------
And don't forget the 2 best crossovers in the league. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Athletically, he reminds me of Antonio Daniels. Skill wise, Isiah Thomas wouldn't be that far of a reach. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
Tiny Archibald with rebounding ability ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
Always gotta be a Celtic, doesn't it Bob? Always gotta be a Celtic. ------------------ "It doesn't matter. If it's the Lakers or the Spurs, I'm going to kill them." -- Cuttino "Jack" Mobley on possible playoff opponents.
