Who is starting at safety along side Pollard this week. Last week, Barber started, but it seemed like Nolan finished and made some huge plays....
Nolan is going to start. Kubiak said he deserves some more playing time after the Raiders game. Nolan is going to play even if Eugene Wilson is healthy. I think Wilson is a solid player because you used to be a cornerback with the Pats but all Nolan does is make plays when he gets a chance. Barber isn't more than a special teams player.
Nolan is definitely more exciting and has more big play potential. I'm just worried about blown coverages and missed assignments, due to his inexperience. We can't afford to give up anything easy to the Giants.
He isn't gonna blow any assignment Barber wouldn't blow Barber is terrible, he should be the absolute last option to start, behind Wilson
It really couldnt get any worse with coverage over the first 3 games. At worst, Nolan's coverage ability is on par with anyone else we have. Nolan should be starting...I guarantee that we wont fall to 33rd in the NFL in pass defense.
QFT But it is good for folks to realize in advance that he is going to miss a couple of assignments. Learning process at the position.
Please God start Nolan. Dude just has an uncanny nose for the ball college, preseason, last Sunday, always the same. 2009 Pollard impact = 2010 Nolan impact
Kubiak already said it's Nolan based on his performance last week at least until Wilson gets healthy. Wilson has not been his old self either so I say keep him in there let's see what happens. He seems to have a nose for the ball.
i heard on the radio that wilson is getting the start, which i am not against so long as Nolan still gets the majority of plays later in the game. I actually think it wouldnt be too bad for Nolan to see what the giants are doing first so he can get coached up before going in.
Kubiak is not that smart...he will wait until Wilson gets burned 5 or 6 times before he figures it out..
He's an idiot because he doesn't want to give an inexperience DB all the snaps? I'm a huge fan of what Nolan has done, but there is a lot to grasp back there. Same thing for Dickerson. He'll get PT if he earns it ... stiff competition in our WR ranks to take snaps from though.
I really hope it's Nolan. There's something to be said about him having a "nose for the ball". Wilson has had passes hit him right in the hands many times and never comes up with the ball.
