I predict that KT will be gone. I think Rudy and CD will make a significant move on draft day involving KT.

Griffin needs room to grow. Not enough minutes to go around.
MoTay can't be moved, so he will start. Griffin may start by midseason.

I think it depends on how EG looks in the preseason..

But for the record MoTay wont be starting till the 6th game of the season. Till then I expect to see EG, cause I also think KT will be used in a trade.(but I hope not)

KT will start unless traded. Mo is on the bench due to drug suspension, and if KT is traded, and Griffin starts, I predict Mo becomes the 6th man behind Griffin.

I think that if he starts to come into his own it will with out a doubt be Eddie Griffin, if however he has not progressed enough it will be MoT unless management wants Kenny's stock to rise. That doesn't tell you much does it? Let's just wait and see no telling right now.

I agree that KT is probably gone. I love KT and he would deserve to start on this team but MO T is untradeable because of his low value after the injury EG is untradeable because of the friggin potential. I wish we could keep KT but its best for him and the team if we trade him because we would hopefully strenghthen a weak spot (the 3?) and he would get the playing time he deserves before his contract expires next year. They should trade him for his sake, he will get big time frustrated getting 25 minutes a game here!

    Good Luck KT

I think Taylor will start and will be getting most of the playing time. Then once his trade value is up, and he shows he can still play, the Rockets should look to trade him for a small forward. After that, Kenny should be the starting power forward, with Griffin backing him up.

Rudy loves having a key player off the bench, and Griffin is still young. He might start to start the season, but I think Mo will eventually be the starter, and Griffin will get starter minutes off the bench.

    What DaDakota said.

MoT has a 5 game suspension to serve and I don't think pre-season is enough time for EG to win the starting slot for game 1.

As for game 6 and beyond, it's worth remembering that MoT came out smoking in the 1Q once he got adjusted to the team two seasons ago.

Doc Rocket said that Kenny wasn't getting traded so KT will start. MoT has just come back from a serious injury. He needs to prove he can play.

Agreed. Doc Rocket also said KT was staying for reasons he couldn't disclose. If it were simply the idea of keeping him a year and giving him a contract so we could trade for value (as suggested by heypartner, I think), it seems he'd be able to disclose that line of thinking. Seems to me one of our other forwards must be on the block. Hard to believe it would be Griffin since he's not making money and is full of potential. Also hard to believe it would be Mo as his trade value is probably at its lowest coming off the injury. Doesn't add up somehow. Hope I'm wrong though. I really like all three of these guys and they can all play the 5 in a pinch. Could we have a taker for Cato?

It depends on who we will draft at SF.

I think, KT will start at PF, EG will start at SF and Mo T will come off the bench. By allstar game, I can see Mo T starting in front of KT.

Interesting, Batman Jones. I agree with rockbox as well, so what if your hunch is right? Cato improved his value (Thank God!) this past season, and as everyone knows, there ain't much out there in the way of centers in the League. What if the deal is CATO and the 15 to move up... anyone here think some teams ahead of us would be interested? We get Ming and Mo, Griff, and KT play positions based on matchups. Rudy loves that anyway. We get perhaps Nene to be our beast in the paint, and pick up a Euro SF with our 2nd round pick from the Heat. He (whoever he is, someone they've scouted) could stay in Europe a year or so for seasoning. Who we trade with would have to give us someone to match Cato's salary, or a third team would have to get involved. We could end up with a vet to fill a position of need on the bench. What do y'all think?

I posted this in another thread.

Katz and Aldridge suggest that Memphis may be willing to trade the #4 selection.

Would Cato and #15 be enough for:
    Wright and #4 (Butler) or
    Swift and the #4 or
    Anderson and #4

I think that Wright and Anderson would work straight up in exchange for Cato while fodder would have to be added to Swift.

Wright would give us a backup C while Anderson would clear salary at the end of the year.

You could be right. Eventhough Mo's trade value is low now, it might not be after he proves he's healthy at the beginning of next season. I say the Rockets give Mo enough playing time to prove he can still play, then try to trade him for Lamar Odom or someone else before the All-Star Break. Of course, if Mo is completely pathetic next season, then we're SOL and stuck with him. But now that I think about it, isn't MoTay a BYC player now? If so, he probably won't be traded anytime soon.

I would love to keep Kenny! I think he would be a great sixth man sparkplug, much like Corliss Williamson and Malik Rose. Having said that, I think Mo will be starting for the majority of the season.

I don't think we're trading MoT. He'll start after the suspension unless Eddie is tearing it up. Unlike some of you all, I think the Rockets see a future with Mo. When talking nucleus right now they say in this order:Steve, Cat, Eddie, Mo. The players also mention it in this order. I actually think Mo is pretty good and fits well on this team. If Yao is all he's hyped up to be, than Mo will only complement him and Eddie. The only person we should talk about trading is KT. Not because he isn't a good player, but because he has great value to fit our most needed spots: 3, 5, backup 2.
