There are several players who are getting hyped up to extreme lengths... who will fall?

Brooks - Fans are hyping him up to be the new offensive star of the team...
Ariza - Fans expect him to be the Rockets' main man on offense and to carry this team...
    McGrady - Explanation not needed...
Budinger - Rookies rarely do well their first season, but fans expect Budinger to fit in nicely.

That's pretty damn tough question. As for now, I am sure Dorsey will fail once again. He is just not right.

I almost said Ariza because fans' expectations can range all the way up to LeBron James level play (which is absolutely delusional), but I went with Budinger anyway -- folks seem to forget he was a mid-second round pick and a rookie. To think you'll get significant production is silly.

Landry. I don't see him improving at all honestly.

Of your list, TMac is most likely to disappoint, probably followed by Brooks.

I went with Brooks. I think he will maintain his lvl of play. but the hype of him being even way better might be a little off.

Agreed although I did pick Budinger because Landry was not listed and "other" seemed pointless considering how many other guys are on the roster.

I think if Budinger is playing meaningful minutes the Rockets are going to win less than 35 games. I just don't see the hype. His quickness is poor and I don't think he has what it takes to score enough buckets to offset the fact he will be used by opposing SF.

Not sure why you would think this. He did slow down after the shooting, but still had a good season.

Do you remember game 6 against the Lakers? He was nearly perfect that game. He works hard so I'm not worried about him. He'll definitely get more PT this season.

I made this thread because I was annoyed with all the:

"BROOKS IS GOING TO AVERAGE 30PPG!"

"TMAC WILL DOMINATE AND HAVE AN MVP SEASON WHEN HE GETS BACK!"

"ARIZA WILL DEVELOP INTO A ULTRA SUPERSTAR HIS FIRST SEASON ON THE ROCKETS!"

Comments circulating around the board. There is a difference between optimism, and insanity.

I'm believed this will be a break out year for Ariza kinda similar to McGrady in his 4th season. Remember when he entered the league he was primarily a defensive juggernaut untill he exploded scoring wise. I predict Ariza will have some what a good solid 4th season having built alot of confidence from the finals and winning a chip. He will have plenty of playing time (most in his career) He could double his ppg to around 15 or 16 and be a James Worthy type player with a quick first step. I predict he will show some real promise like McGrady did in his 4th season.

I think its going to be Dorsey.. He is a beast of a man 279lbs! Some think he will be a serviceable center rebounds/blocks/athleticism.. but I don't know.

I don't have high expectations from anyone. I think some of them will do a good job,but it's going to be a tough year.

I think Landry will be one of the best players on the team this year. We're going to get a ton of garbage bucket opportunities...Landry is the man for that.

As for a potential let down, I think Trevor will get off to a slow start. Fans won't be happy at first, but eventually, the team will come together.

I see us making the 7th seed when it's all said and done.

I was trying to decide out of those two, but I will go with Brooks. He will not be dropping 20 points a night like some people think. If he's the primary initiator of the offense, teams will double him and figure out ways to take the ball away from him like the Lakers did during the playoffs. Once the shots stop falling Brooks takes himself out the game mentally and then it's all downhill from there.

As far as Tmac is concerned, only the Tmac lovers will be disappointed. The rest of us won't be surprised.

    That's a pretty easy question

    TREVOR ARIZA

the guy is making him out to be a go-to-guy when the reality is that he has never even averaged 9ppg in his career, which has been a while. The guy is an average role player, nothing more, nothing less.

The one who gets the fewest votes in this poll. Because that means the fans have the highest expectation for him.
