Gus Johnson... most underrated announcer. Don’t know why he doesn’t call more professional games. He’s a hidden gem.
Bill, old man foggy included, is part of the charm. I don't even care when he messes up several times per cast, at this point it's almost charming. Plus, he is the first one willing to call out the team when they suck.
Exactly. Bill's homerism and ability to criticize the team is what I LIKE about his style of broadcasting. He doesn't bite his tongue if the team isn't putting forth the right effort. He has the right to do that being his been with the team over 30 years
I might be in the minority but I hate homerism even if it's in favor of Houston...would rather watch a more balanced telecast...
Nah dude. Bill is just as guilty, damn near senile. Even a few years ago when Harden pulled up from the elbow in Tuckers face to beat PHX, Bill said "a cold blooded three!" which it was quite clearly not a three.
Then Clyde is the one that needs to go, he is terrible. His TV persona sucks, although surprisingly, the few times off camera comments have poured through the broadcast by accident he sounds a million times better.
All announcers have these. Bill Worrell is a LEGEND. I've been watching the Rockets since the 80's and Bill's been doing a great since then. Not to mention he's from Houston
Wanting to replace Bill is just downright Un-Houstonian! He puts the "home town broadcaster" in Rockets as Marvin Zindler did for undercover investigative reporting on our local news. My guess is people who want him replaced are just outsiders who grew up somewhere else, and don't really know what he means to the rest of us. That and kids who haven't been around long enough to appreciate him.
