Option #1 I think Lindsey Hunter is the perfect pt guard for the Rockets. He plays in your face D and can hit the open 3. He is an unrestricted free agent with championship experience with the Lakers and Pistons. At this point, with most of the point guards we coveted off the market, I say that he is the best way to go. Option #2 If we can convince Nick Van Exel to opt out of his contract by giving him an extra year ( he currently has 2 years left), then we should go for this guy for the right price. We have a trade exception we can offer him if he opts out and resigns with Golden State for 18-20 million over 3 years. So, the choice is Yao Howard/Taylor Jackson/Nachbar McGrady Hunter Vs Yao Howard/Taylor Jackson/Nachbar McGrady NVE With one of the two being done, I say the Rockets either call Jerry West's bluff and offer Swift a contract or give Eddie Griffin a chance. Word is EG is working out with John Lucas and has been doing well in the Pro City Houston Summer League. He also voluntarily lives in a half way home. I think given that we already sacrificed 3 draft picks for EG, giving him another chance at the veteran's minimum isn't taking a high risk.
blakekoen2, why not give EG another chance. He is young. athletic, and if you go to some of the games this summer at the Fonde Center, Mondays and Wednesdays, he is kicking butt. Players there aren't pushovers. Rashard Lewis, Nick Van Exel, Cuttino Mobley, Damon Staudimire, James Posey,Ndudi Ebi and Damon Jones all play there. I spoke with some of the players there, and they all say EG is gonna be awesome if someone gives him another chance. You should go and see him play first against other NBA talent before you say he's all washed up. He's younger than most college seniors and I think deserves another chance. We should give him a chance. It's not that much of a game anyway. If he screws up, then he does. If not, he can be a huge plus for us.
