I'm not going to go on hate spewing tirade, but I want to hear the arguments for those that truly believe that we can beat the Lakers in a playoff series. Nevermind Tmac outta the 1st rd crap, us fans want a championship. But lets say Tmac comes back and gets healthy, and we are in the WCF. You don't think Phil Jackson will use Lamar Odom to front Yao or Pau Gasol to front him? Do u think Ron Artest will do what he did tonight, be a ballhog and try to go at Kobe? I just see too many weaknesses in this team right now to beat the Lakers. We are just too far away. The loss to the Pacers is not pushing me over the edge, but it clearly shows that this team has been the worst team of protecting leads in 4th qtrs. No other true contender I can think of gives away games like we do. I think we are what we are right now, a 2nd Tier team, and not a contender in the class of the Lakers. People want to disagree fine, just let me hear your arguments !

I don't anymore unless this team somehow starts meshing like we did starting January 2008.

Anyone still remember we had the best record in the league since that month that season?

We lost to them already, why would anyone have thought we could have beaten them before tonight anyway.

The Rockets need to get a lot better and a lot of healthier if they hope to beat the Lakers.

^^ even if we start meshing and getting stops like we normally do. You think we can hide the fact that we have pg who cannot really slash to the basket and score layups, or the fact that while Luis and Carl can rebound and score, they are undersized and will get trounced by Gasol as he did last time against them. Or how about relying on Yao to get key rebounds? What Jeff Foster did reminded me of how Boozer just owned Yao on the boards late in game 7. I don't think our offense will ever compare to theirs, therefore I just don't see it

No, we aren't near the lakers level today.

But anyway, i think it's pre-mature to say anything plus or minus.

The key to beating the Lakers will be our Defense....and Deke is badly needed. The Lakers have a lot of upfront height and that's now a problem for us. Last year we had Deke. This year? Just YAo? he can't do it alone.

Well I guess they should quit since they have no shot. Just let the Lakers and Celtics go at it now. No point in wasting time.

Im afraid Deke might be useful against a team with a scrub center like Boston. But against LA, Bynum and Pau are just wayyyy too mobile for Deke to have an impact.

Right now No and why we can't beat them right now.

    1)Health
2)Lack of chemistry due to health.

Later on down the road maybe we can who knows. Right now I'm not confident and before the season I wasn't confident about it.

We can beat Lakers if the game is irrelevant.

Not if Ron Artest keep shooting sub 40% and teams continue to block our shots at a 3 to 1 ratio. That will just not get it done. Its embarassing.

things will get better as we've traded tmac who is simply like a sucking baby when he's facing Kobe. Marion is gonna let Kobe have a taste of his leave which is even more smelly than shaq's.

    We can.

We don't care about regular season games.

    LA still soft.

They got a great bench that does the difference, but bench don't play a lot on playoff.

Almost 90 of their game have been won by the bench at the start of the 4th quarter.

    Playoff are a different animal.

So much is wrong with this post.

A)I guess we don't care about playoff games considering these group of guys fail to get out the 1st round unlike the Lakers.

B)L.A. is still soft? Then what are we?

C)A great bench makes a huge difference in the playoffs

    D) I have no clue what you're talking about.

    E) Of course the playoffs is a different animal, the Lakers got the NBA Championship while the Rockets haven't been able to get out the 1st round.
