I must have a fan when I sleep, I'm not refering to a ceiling fan, but a portable fan. And it needs to be pretty loud. I use a LASKO garden fan when I sleep and I put it on high.

I can't sleep with a fan. Seriously. When other people have the fan on, I don't get any sleep.

Yeah, mine's always on, 24-7 basically, at the medium setting. Not only does it help keep the room cool, but the rhythm/ sound at night is soothing to me. Helps me catch my ZZZZZZZ's.

While I am always appreciative of my many adoring fans, I would never require that they sleep with me.

We have a portable fan in our bedroom also. Makes it a little harder to wake up, but I can't get to sleep now without it. Thought I was the only one...

I have to have one. Currently, there's something wrong with my fan that causes it to takes about fifteen minutes to start. Weird.

So, if I forget to turn it on ahead of time before I go to sleep I end up just lying awake in bed in complete silence until it finally starts up.

    LOL at this thread!

And yeah, count me in as someone that loves the sound of a fan running while I am going to sleep. That rhythmic "white noise" is nice to sleep to. I hate the sound of a quiet house before I go to sleep.

Wow, I thought I was the only one on this planet.

I can somewhat deal with the sound but if there is a fan on me, I wake up with a sore throat and initial cold-like symptoms. Although I haven't had a real cold since 1992 (Vitamin C works, I tell yah!).

Unfortunately, most females prefer fans on them and this really kills the pool of potential long-term relationships! :D

Don't you guys have AC? Seriously, I use a ceiling fan at my house because my dad controls the thermostat, so I need that baby running during the summer to keep me cool. In highschool I used a fan in the dorms because ours were old and didn't have AC. I definately don't miss having a fan blowing air in my face while I try to sleep.

I can't sleep without my ceiling fan on during the months of July-Sept. Otherwise, I have it off.

The thing is I don't need a fan because of the cool air, I need it because of the noise. I usually don't even point the fan at my bed.

And you're not exaggerating either! I have already told my friends that when I buy a house it's not gonna have any fans in it, maybe I should tell girls on the first date. I don't want to mislead them.

I like a ceiling fan, but I'm forced to sleep with a damn boxed fan. My wife must have one on. Come one, it's not like we don't have AC and a ceiling fan on...

It's genetic or something, her mom and dad both have to have one...

I need the thermostat on 72 and the ceiling fan on high. Otherwise I can't sleep.

Well, if I don't sleep with a portable fan on at least the medium setting and more likely the high setting not to far from me, then I would never get any sleep cause the neighbor's dogs bark all night long and I would never get any sleep cause the neighbor is a stupid idiot who refuses to do anything to break the cycle of her dogs barking all night every damn night. She can take steps but refuses to. I've thought many a times about off-ing her dogs and ending the whole f*cking thing cause I'm downright sick of it. The fan serves as a noise maker to drown out the noise of the high-pitched barking.

So, yes...I sleep with a fan...even if it's 20 degrees inside I'm going to sleep with a damn fan. Even that may not help sometimes depending on what kind of frenzy the dogs are in and the pitch of their barks.
