The Kidd aquisition led to consecutive Final's appearances. We don't even know how the Suns are going to do in the playoffs. Until we find that out, I got to go with Kidd.

It's too early. All Nash has done is improve the team's record. Kidd took his team to the finals, twice. I think this comparison can't be made until Nash has had at least one season with the Suns.

    as Oski said. too early.

right now you have to go with Kidd. but Nash obviously has more potential in the next few years than Kidd has.

Nets were a perennial joke that turned around to become the best team in the East for two years straight.

Suns have always been in and out of the playoffs. Just because they were one and done in the 2000s and had a bad season last year, doesn't mean they're being 'saved'. I would personally say they need to get back to the Barkley era level of success before we can even consider the comparison.

And even then, think back as to the last time the Nets had ever been to the Finals.

You have to go with Kidd. There was nobody on the Nets team that was even close to the talent that Nash has now with the Suns. What Nash is doing is special but is nothing compared to what Kidd did with the Nets...

I'd have to go with Kidd for two reasons.

    1. While the Nets were absolutely terrible, the Suns already had loads of young talent and then added Quentin Richardson and Steve Nash.

    2. Nash wasn't traded. He arrived in Phoenix via free agency. :D

I have to go with Nash. The nets play in the crappy east where any team has a chance to go to the finals, whereas Nash is doing this in the West.

you people act like kidd showed up to the exact same team as the season before. kenyon martin's leg was broken the season before. good job by kidd healing him up. kittles hadn't been healthy for years. i wanna say van horn even was injured somewhat the year before. and that doesn't even include jefferson getting drafted that year.

it's kinda like francis now. he may be really important to the team and the turnaround but a whole bunch of extra talent was brought in to make it happen. kidd's chemistry-creating energy was huge but that team was not the same team as the year before.

how much is different with this phoenix team outside of Q and then amare getting one year older? maybe i'm missing something but it seems fairly similar. now there's no way they keep up the 18-3 pace (that's 70 wins) but still it's amazing not just how much they've won but how dominant they've been. you almost can't keep them down for the whole game.

Nash is SOOOOOOOO much better than Kidd it is not even close.

Nash does everything Kidd does, AND he shoots as well.

Steve Nash is the best PG in the NBA, heck he might even be the best guard overall right now.

For seriously? Nash is a horrible defender, Kidd is a decent shooter.

    Are you sure about that?

When did you see Nash play a lick of defense?
When did you see Nash pull down 6 boards a game?
When did you see Nash lead his team to the Finals?

All I see is Nash taking any team he is on and making it a WHOLE lot better.

And, I don't give a lick of credit to just getting to the finals.

Wow, a team that had a 26-56 record the year before and turns it around with a 52-30 record AND goes to the finals is hard to beat. I don't know about you guys but if you don't give a "lick" about taking your team to the Finals and giving your team a chance to win it all, I don't know what other point there is. J Kidd affect the game in so many ways it's rediculous. Today I would take Nash over Kidd but we're comparing two different times.

DaDa, he's a Mavs fan, so his disposition towards Nash now is kinda like yours towards Francis...except that Steve was actually still playing for us when you hated him. ;)

    Rocketeer,

Did Kidd make Kittles get better after 2 seasons of injuries? Did Kidd heal Martin's broken leg?

Kidd is a great player, but he is not as good as Nash.

Nash is better because he can SHOOT !!

OH, and getting your team to the Western Conference finals is more impressive than getting a team out of the Eastern conference into the finals.

prop Nash up all you want
    but
What were the Nets before Kidd?

pheonix has a bunch of GOOD YOUNG players too
    Marion and Amare were there

Kidd taking the LOWLY nets to the finals
until Nash does that . . . KIDD

As for Nash with the Mavs
who would you rather have . . .

    Martin and Jefferson
    or
    Dirk and Finley?

How many all-defensive first teams have those two guys been on? I forgot.
