    Whatever it is (allegedly some kind of fake pot that might give people a buzz) local lawmakers are starting to get whipped up into a frenzy about, especially since elections are in 8 months. Just what we need ... more overzealous law makers who might make something illegal that may not be all that potent to begin with

    no kidding. any idea why salvia is legal?

    the effects aren't as drawn out as mar1juana, but i remember hallucinating for a minute or two after smoking it.

    My wife's cousin was visiting this weekend and was going on and on about it. He's a lifelong stoner, so I trust his judgment. He had some while he was here and spent the weekend baked on it. I don't smoke anything, so I have to take his word on it, but he was pretty damn high.

    He said the street name for it is Serenity Now (points to whoever figures that reference out). You can get it at any head shop or even ebay.

    Whatever you do, don't get spicy green. That stuff is the worst trip everrrrr. K2 is greatt though.

    Every local news station where I live has done a piece about the evils of this stuff...

    Honestly, sounds like it's worse for your health than any potential negatives of mar1juana....

    I could be wrong but I think the pic in the first post is real mar1juana. There is some real stuff called "train wreck" and it says dispensary on the bag. I believe its unrelated to the actual post unless the fake stuff looks exactly like high grade mar1juana.

    Why smoke that stuff? It sounds really dangerous. mar1juana sounds much less harmful imo...

    If you really want to smoke pot and not get in trouble much, just move to Cali or Breckinridge or Austin. Or Amsterdam.

    Check the sig. All these legal "incenses" are sprayed down with a chemical called JWH-018. Serenity Now is the most popular strain in Houston:

    You can buy this stuff at any head shop in town, and they're making a killing. JWH-018 is a synthetic cannabinoid. It isn't THC, but it affects the same brain receptors as THC. The high isn't identical to that of mar1juana, but it's close enough to be a good legal substitute.

    I'm an experienced smoker. The first time I tried Serenity Now, I got REALLY high. Extremely paranoid, it wasn't enjoyable. As my tolerance adjusted, I came to enjoy the stuff. Tolerance builds up quickly, which is a problem, because you have to smoke more and more of whatever junk plants they're chopping up and spraying down to get high. My lungs were not pleased.

    The nice thing about Serenity Now and these other legal smokes is that they aren't detectable by any sort of drug test. If you're looking for a job, in the military, or on probation and you just HAVE to get high, it's a good alternative. They're also legal to possess and they don't smell like weed at all, so you can basically take a walk in the park puffing a massive spliff of Serenity Now and you're not going to turn any heads or break any laws. Pretty cool. That could change at any moment, but for now, this stuff is not on the cops' radar.

    In the long view, though, if a quarter of Houston can smoke this stuff legally and society doesn't go to hell, then I think it's safe to say we can legalize the real stuff without much to fear. (Duh.)
