This sounds important. What are you talking about? I know Kobe has demanded a trade, but what's this about pairing Kobe with Garnett? I feel like I've missed something gigantic.

It's a plant from the Laker front office. Not saying KG couldn't end up in LA, but that particular piece of news came right from the Lakers trying to get the Kobe/Kupchak monkey off their backs.

You don't think, a year after turning down Tyson Chandler/Luol Deng/Tyrus Thomas (or Aldridge) for KG, that Minnesota will be happy with Odom/19thpick/Bynum?

I have faith you are right. I despise Kobe, but pairing Garnett with him would be scary. Farmar, Kobe, Luke Walton, Garnett and Kwame Brown would be a load, even in the West.

Apparently the Wolves wouldn't even be getting Bynum or Oden. The Pacers would. Hard to believe the Wolves wouldn't get Bynum! And now apparently the Celtics are aiming for J. O'Neal? Confusion...

Like Kelly said, tis the season for agents and front offices to leak the news they want to leak to the press. LA, if all else fails, wants Kobe to believe they're trying to make things happen.

According to ESPN's version, the Wolves end up with LA's pick at #19, a huge TE, and "young players". There also needs to be a 4th team (Hawks?) under the cap to make it happen. What's in it for them? O'Neal?

Pacers get Odom/Bynum and give up??? I'd have to think it's O'Neal (going to the 4th team). They don't have a first rounder this year, most of their contracts are awful. Maybe Granger, Harrison, and Diogu are some of the "young players" going to the Wolves.

Overall, this doesn't pass a sniff test.

I think the fourth team is going to be the knicks...they have young talent and salaries to throw around......this might be epic.

Now that link says the fourth team is Boston and they would be getting Jermaine O'neal.

Is Peter Vescey working in LA now?

They make it seem like O'neal is just trade fodder...we should try to be that 4th team....guessing boston would have to give up 4th pick and maybe Green or Jefferson? They discussed a swap between Celtics and Wolves on ESPN Garnett for Jefferson, Green, and 4th...

If it's Boston then Wolves would get the #5, and probably Green and Jefferson- but that's alot to give up for a max and broken J. O'neal. Why not just take Garnett instead?

What is Minny going to get? The other three teams are going to give up picks and their best young players to Minn., whatever it is it needs to total 20mil.

Not smart if Minnesota does this. As if they get under the cap, free agents are dying to go THERE.

    Lakers get KG.

Wolves get Al Jefferson + #5

    Celtics get Jermaine.

    Pacers get Bynum+Odom.

I think that was it, at least that's what i saw on ESPN News.

If so that's pretty balanced and fair to all parties involved.

I wonder what excuse KG would have now for not winning?

Supposedly Garnett signed off on being traded to any major city. Chicago can offer a much more intriguing package than Jefferson and the 5th. Bulls have apparently given up on Kobe, they should rededicate themselves to acquiring Garnett.

The Lakers should set their sights lower, keep Odom, and target a Gasol caliber player (for Bynum) and hopefully sign Atkins or M. Williams. Possibly even Kidd mid season.

Why would Boston do this is my question. Jermaine O'Neal is not going to bring them any closer to a championship next year than the guys (Jefferson/Green/possibly#5) they are rumored to trade out.

Wolves get shat on in all of these scenarios. All they get is cap space. But what free agent wants to come to Minnesota anyway?

It looks like the Celtics backed out.

Sounds like Minnesota is gonna get robbed, which I don't really care. But if the robber is the Lakers...
