RA is trying to find a way to get Tmac into the rotation. Who's minutes should we increase so Tmac can get into the rotation?
It isn't that hard to figure out. Battier has minutes cut, which will preserve him for the end of the year and you cut Ariza's minutes. Watch for Ariza to burn himself out by play-off time. He isn't used to play 40 minutes a game for 82 games.
According to tonights game: Ariza 43 Brooks 36 Hayes 16 Battier 36 Scola 32 Landry 31 Lowry 23 Andersen 15 Taylor 5 If you want to get McGrady at least 30 minutes. -Limit Ariza to 34 minutes a game. -Battier to 28 minutes a game -Brooks to 33 minutes a game -Taylor none -Andersen to 10
No one should have their minutes reduced for TMac. Ariza should have his minutes reduced for Bud when he returns, but that's about it. Can I be on your super-cool sig list please? Preferably at the top in italicized, bolded letters. I'm willing to say whatever is needed. Like, TMac sucks, forever and always, and he is the root of all problems in this world.
Are you dense? Adelman isn't trying to figure out whose minute to cut to give McGrady more. Adelman is trying to figure out if there is any way to play McGrady more minutes without putting winning at risk. If McGrady proves he can help the team win, there is no problem with finding him minutes. The fact of the matter is he hasn't proven that yet.
If it was my call, I'd cut into Ariza's and Battier's minutes. There's no need for Ariza to be played 40 mpg, and for Battier to be play 30-35 mpg. I don't think their level of play on the offensive end has justified those extended minutes.
McGrady has proved no reason to get more minutes at all. As bad as Ariza has been playing, I'd rather have him play the same amount of minutes, I just can't wait when C-Bud comes back. We need to just wait for a trade, Tmac doesn't want to be here and nobody in the Houston Rockets organization wants him here.
Offensively,he might be able to do,but in order to do that,it remains to be seen if he has the ability to play through more minutes. I feel that it partially depends on matchups. The Clippers were easier than the Magic. I would have liked to see him going on against LAC. He doesn't have explosion and is bad on defense, but he is not stopping the ball. He is looking to pass. Tracy definitely needs to take more responsibility on defense. I can live with him getting beaten as long as he makes a good effort, which has been lacking apart from one or two possessions. Battier needs to be on the court with McGrady. Even if he plays well for short minutes,it will make Ariza's job easier. I'm not afraid of losing a game or two,if Tracy gets more minutes as long as he doesn't make any demands and plays hard.
