As the defense tightens up in the fourth quarter, what kind of plays would you like to see us finish the game with.
Interesting...let me think. I will have to go with Yao because he's our Olajuwon and even though T-mac is our clutch player ala Maxwell i feel safer when Yao gets it closer to the basket. Battier threes are also an option i like but Yao's #1.
No T-Mac PnR with Yao?? When T-Mac hit the big 3 against Minnesota his man went under the pick and Yao's man scrambled back when Yao rolled causing McGrady to be wide open. I go with T-Mac PnR with Yao. You get Yao moving to the basket, T-Mac potentially wide open, or if off defenders help, you get Battier/Rafer wide open for 3. Or maybe even Landry/Scola underneath for a layup.
Tmac to the hole. Bonzi on the low box...uh uh...save that for the 2nd and 3rd quarters when we need energy and scoring off the bench.
Some sanity prevails. Thank you. Why posters make these ridiculous threads baffles me. On a night when Yao has 30 and McGrady is 4 for 18 , do we really think the brilliant coaches of the NBA are going to double McGrady and single cover Yao...?...right. The "last shot" is totally situational dependent upon score, opponent fouls, fouls to give, who is "hot", who is not, and too many other variables to list.
Be careful with what you said, knuckleheads like 'Big Dogg' would call you a YOF just because you have said something negative about Tmac. Yes, that moron called 'Big Dogg' is that r****ded. Is it sad?
Since he didn't list any variables, I am pretty sure he means "in general". It's not really a hard question to answer.
Simple question with simple ANSWERS: 1. PnR with Yao/Mac: This is our bread and butter play because the defense has to choose their poison. I especially like that new play they have added with the PnR where Yao drops to the basket without fully setting the screen. Most of the time, this play catches the defense off guard and either Yao gets an open layup or Mac gets an open jumper because both defenders either over commit to Mac or they both drop down on Yao. 2. T-Mac attack: Another great play because it usually leaves Shane or Head open for the 3 point shot. I think both of these guys are underrated when it comes to their abilities to hit clutch shots down the stretch as long as they don't have to create it for themselves. 3. Yao post up: Another great play because it causes another double or triple team which leave our other players open. We either get an uncontested shot or Landry/Scola get a wide-open layup! That is the beauty of having two superstars that demand the double team. Then it is up to the player to just hit their shots/free throws. If it is a last second shot, I am happy with either Mac, Head, or Shane taking it. If it is a post move, then I am happy with Yao taking it or dishing it to Scola for the midrange, Landry for the power slam, or back out to our shooters!
I agree its not really hard to answer at all... You give the ball to Tmac... pick and roll with Yao... Either Tmac will score with a jumper or drive or free throw, he'll dish to yao, or dish to a open shooter... or someone will miss their shot and we'll lose.
Agreed. The T-Mac and Yao PnR is our best play. It can go either way. It frees up T-Mac for the open jumper or he can hit Yao going towards the basket.
