This question's been on my mind for a while.....once a team wins a championship, excatly who gets a ring? - the players (of course), but do players on the IR still get a ring? - the coach (of course), but do the assistant coaches? - GM? Owner? Anyone else? And do all those who get a ring, get a trophy? Or is the trophy only given to the team to display in the arena? Thanks in advance!
I think I've heard that pretty much everyone in the organization gets a ring. I know the trainers definitely do. I'm also sure that the owner and GM get the rings. Probably everyone that the owner wants to buy a ring for gets a ring, wouldn't you think?
getsmart, as far as i know Andrew Gaze has a ring even though he was not active with the Spurs during thr playoffs in 99
Everybody gets a ring. I don't know about play-by-play and color guys, but I would assume so. The organization is allowed to give a ring to anyone they choose, if you're a player you get a ring, active or not. Jack Haley has a championship ring.
Not an NBA example, but still...A good friend of mine has a son who worked part-time for the Angels last year. He got a ring. It wasn't the same ring the players got, but it was till pretty big.
i have a friend whose dad is the security guard for the rockets and i remember hearing that he gotta ring...
