Did you not read my post or are you confirming what I said?

 

Not a Facebook user myself, but I think it would affect what gets pushed to news feeds, which seems appropriate. If I’m a user of Facebook, I’d like to know if political content its algorithm pushes into my feed is suspect. Maybe a Community Notes type feature is sufficient for that.

 

Do you think your post was removed due to a 3rd party fact check, or due to some automated internal process being applied without human judgment?

I don't really care if social media companies moderate or don't moderate user content. In much the same way this is Clutch's sandbox and he can do what he wants on it in terms of limiting who and what can be said.

If you believe everything you see on Twitter/Facebook, then you get what you deserve.

 

Might be worth asking why no self-described fact checkers identify as conservative.

When I was young, "fact checker" simply meant a field expert. Somehow we've politicized the idea of being knowledgeable about niche subjects.

I care if a social media platform that is used by a large number of people creates more polarization and division. This impacts everyone, not just the people who use those platforms. I'm not an active X user, but I still have an interest in how it (or its competitors) operate.

 

I "care" in the sense that I wish it weren't so.

I do not "care" to the point I think we need to make laws about it.

I think tasking social media platforms with determining "what is true" is just a disaster waiting to happen.

 

In that case it had nothing to do with fact checkers. It was automated looking for pictures they had flagged. It didn't look at the context.
