Who else agrees that Carlos would be an excellent starting PF?

The guy is just plain productive when he gets in the game. It seems like he is always in the right place to accept a pass or snag a rebound. His FG% is always going to be high because he is an inside player. He is so full of energy out on the court, but he has the ability to channel that energy and not use it to committ fouls or turnovers. His energy does nothing but help the Rockets on the court. Who else agrees that Carlos should start over Mo?

On this team? At this point? It's definitely a consideration worth looking at.

Given a perfect world, no. (But this team? At this point?...)

Oh BTW if he gets more minutes it should be from KT expense and not Mos and maybe then Mo can get some legitimate playing time!

I think this is a good idea. Maybe then Mo would get the message and realize that just because he was our major offseason aquisition, he is not assured the starting role, and he needs to produce in order to keep starting. I would definetely like to see what kind of numbers Los could put up if were to get starters numbers for a game or two... I think he would surprise us all.

I think Carlos might surprise, too. Translate his limited minutes into starter minutes, and that might spur a few of our "real" starters into action.

I would have no problem with KT, Mo, Los all getting equal time on the court.

I just want a power foward that hustles, rebounds and makes open shots from 10 feet in. We have enough scorers on our team. What we need is a defensive stopper that makes his open dunks, like what we had in otis thorpe. Los fits that bill the most among the three. He's not perfect, but at least he comes to play which is more than I can say for Mo.

I like Kenny, but he needs to learn how to finish. How many times have we seen him make a beautiful move to get within 2 feet of the basket and miss.

I wish somehow we could get a player like Dale Davis.

I like Los coming off the bench. I do think he deseres more minutes though. Los is a lil too light in the ass to start full time out here in the West.

I'ma need more than 6 and a half rebounds a game from the PF

"Light in the ass"? Explain, please?

(chicken-legs, yeah. needs to practice his FTs, yeah. better shot selection, yeah. couldn't hurt to look for assists, maybe. but "light in the ass"? I hope you're not talking about flashlights...)

Los = #1 backup PF....he deserves it. Hmm what happens when Cato gets back full strength and we have 4 PF and only 48min a game. Do we try trading before deadline or do we demand the length of games be lengthened(hehe that sounds funny, I'm kinda giggley at 2:41 am)? We have Los which is a very good capable backup, KT still learning but an energy man on glass and just overall, Collier who has finally shown his jump shot touch(then gets injured, go figure), and our starter Mo who has a wicked jumpshot and a nice faceup game(lil rebounding). What to do, what to do? Time will tell I guess...

As for C: Hakeem is the man (Was there any ever any real question?)... Cato returns on the 16th (maybe, but somewhere close to that), and Collier's probably gone until early January. He will be welcomed back with open arms.

PF: Kenny is lookin more attractive as the starting option every day, tho Mo still holds that. Look for Los to backup here, switching to C when need be.

SF and guards are all covered, unless you don't have any faith (Shandon - have faith, too)

Let me say up front that I love the effort put forth by 'Los. Realistically, an NBA game is a series of matchups. Some games Carlos will matchup well. Other games, he won't. For example:

*** vs. Blazers - Los will have trouble with the physical presence of Rasheed and Dale Davis at PF and a bigger physical disadvantage against Sabonis and Kemp at C. Los can definitely get to the other end of the floor quicker than the latter two, but that's only an advantage if the Rocks force the tempo.

*** vs. Dallas - I like Los against Laetner, but Bradley's height will bother him unless he really boxes out well. I also think Los can stay with Nowitski. Maybe I'm grossly incorrect, but I think Los has enough foot speed and wingspan to bother Dirk.

*** vs. SAC - 2 thumbs up against Vlade & Pollard. Funderburke is too strong. He would need help against Webber and which King do you leave to double CWEbb?

*** vs. Sonics - McMillan is 2-0 including a rout of the Faker$! If Jelani McCoy starts again, let Los start at PF. Of the 4 games listed, I think this one offers Carlos the highest possibility of a double-double and some weakside blocks on Ewing or even Payton if/when he posts up.

Again, it's all about matchups and sometimes even hustle can't make up some talent differentials. But I'd love to see Los get off big time!

Anyone wanna dig up some stats on that game last year where ´Los has just lost his sister (if i´m not mistaken) and he started at C for us, and completely destroyed the Jazz?

Even Malone was in awe of him. And we all know how hard it is to see the Mailman actually say something good about anyone...

´Los is a warrior. 100% effort an hustle. Just the opposite of our foul prone, soft and lazy ass 2.25 millionexception starter...

    nuff said.

I remember that. I was out of town at the time, and couldn't get the game (in Spur country), but when I tried to follow it online I distinctly remember my jaw dropping to the floor, and thinking "this man should be mourning, instead he's pissed and on a tear"... He gave a career performance worthy of any starter.

Wasn't that about the same time that we started to notice him?

I would be happy starting Thomas at PF, and bringing Mo and Carlos off the bench. Why don't we use Carlos backing up Wiz at the three more often?

No, Mo-fans, don't say I'm just saying this because Mo has struggled recently or whatever...I'm just sick of waiting for his "rebounding potential." I don't see it, I have never seen it, and I have seen nothing which makes me believe that I will EVER see it. Maurice Taylor is worth every penny of his $2 million contract. But he's not a complete player...

I've started noticing that everytime Taylor comes out of the game in favor of Kenny or Carlos or both, Houston as a team plays better. Against Sacramento, everytime those two guys got in the game, we made a run. Last night, when Kenny and Carlos were in the game, they made things happen at both ends of the floor.

I know we heavily chased Taylor, and that's fine. But how can we discount those two guys in the process, especially at the contributions that they're making when they're in the game?

How many times last night did Kenny keep a ball alive? Pull down a tough board?

Answer: More than I've seen Taylor do it all year.

No mo Mo. Start someone else.

Carlos should get some minutes, and I think that Rudy wants to play him, but there just aren't enough minutes to go around. Once Cato/Collier come back, Los will have no more PT.

He SERIOUSLY needs to work on his free throws. His fg % is high but his ft% is very shaq-like. And Los will start to get fouled... teams will not let him have open dunks all the time. His free throws dont even come close... he wasnt that bad of a shooter last year. I wonder what happened?
