If you do what is it that you eat? I try to eat healthy (no pizza, burgers, etc), but its hard. Especially with the billion fast food places close to where I live:

Check this site out and you will be amazed.

    What are you people eating?

no wonder there are so many fat people in america. Don't you need 2000 calories a day on average? (which i disagree ... 1200 sounds about right)

I had a Doublestack with Cheese last night at Showplace Lanes...so no, I don't eat to healthy.

I don't like being too fat, but I live under the credo that you only live once...if you like eating good food, you might as well. I'm much rather live 60 years eating fast food and junk than 75 eating green crap.

    I try to eat healthy.
I pretty much stay away from fast food, burgers, fried chicken, etc...

I mainly eat "natural" foods with no artificial flavors, preservatives or coloring. Organic produce when possible.

Thats not the only reason (its not even the major reason) I try to eat healthy. Its because I always wanna look good. I guess I am a shallow person and do are about my physical appearance.

I don't know if I can say that I eat healthy, but (due to strange phobias) I don't eat junk. I cook practically all my food at home. I eat a lot of meat, and a lot of fat. A 4' tape worm keeps me from gaining weight though.

I eat purty healthy, soy milk in the morning with cereal, a decent lunch of chicken or fish or a salad from Cafe Express lke today, then I crap out at dinner!
I guess I just get lazy and end up eating fast food most of the time.:(

BTW has anyone tried the Burger King tacos? Not bad, eh?

This sums up America's eating habits:

Lisa Simpson: "Do you have any fruit?
Homer Simpson: "We have some doughnuts with purple filling. Purple is a fruit..."

... And I just had Burger King for lunch. Time to put that rarely used gym membership to work...

If by "healthy" you mean lots of stuff that's bad for you, then yes, I eat very healthy.

I generally eat healthy, although I definitely indulge when I want to.

I just try and minimize the really big hitter foods (coke, chocolate, ice cream, desserts) and then eat sensibly the rest of the time. I still have burgers, fries, pizza etc on occasion, but I try and balance those meals by eating healthy, low calorie foods the rest of the time.

RM95 - I also subscribe to the "only live once" mantra, but in order to enjoy my life to the fullest, I want to be fit, trim and long lived.

It is true that you should consume around 2000-2400 calories a day.

Here is what I would do on a typical day if I thought I would be going out for Pizza

Breakfast - bowl of cornflakes with 1/2% fat milk ~ 300 cals
    Snack: Banana ~ 100cals
Lunch: Two rounds of sandwiches with turkey slices ~ 300 cals
    snack: Apple ~ 150 cals
Dinner 4 slices of pizza: 1200 cals
    Total: 2050 cals

That leaves room for a couple of beers!

ahhh, the old american tradition of fast food and extreme exercise patterns. It really isn't that hard to eat healthy. Let me rephrase that...It really isn't that hard to avoid bad food and eat good food all day while being satisfied, or experience satiety, in the process.
I use to eat bad when I lived at home with mommy and daddy, but their idea of good eating is buying low-fat oreos. :D
Before typing this I explained my eating routine in a day...but I deleted it because most people here wouldn't give a damn about that anyways.
    Bottom line...
You WILL be a fat ass with Hypertension, diabetes, Joint pain(most notably knees) and a very low quality of life if most of you on this board continue the eating habits that you have...I see it all the time and its getting worse and worse in our society. People WILL be disgusted at your appearance as they think "DAMN JUST PUT THE PORK CHOP DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM THE PLATE ALREADY!"
Yes it does take effort but whats more important? Getting your money's worth at a buffet:rolleyes:...or still being able to see your penis(let alone use it) at 50?

I've started a new eating plan (I refuse to call it a diet. That helps...really.). A doctor friend told me about the Blood Type Diet (err.....eating plan). The basic permise is: Why can some people can eat certain foods and live forever while other people eat the same thing and have a lifetime full of being fat and having heart attacks? The answer and missing link is your blood type.

Its pretty interesting. I've been following it for about a month and I feel better than I have in years, and I've lost weight. My workout plan also seems more effective as well.

I'll go into more detail if anyone is interested.

I'll write more later when I have more time, but for now:
This diet has to do with how your body absorbs and reacts to whatever you put in to it. Your blood is what delivers everything to where it needs to go inside your body, so how your blood reacts on a chemical and molecular level to what you put into your body is essential.

    I'll write more later....

I don't eat healthy like I used to, but I work out a lot so I maintain my weight and fitness. Almost 2 hours a day, which is probably about 1,300 calories or so.

After my football career was cut short due to blowing out my knee I just lost the will to keep any healthy form of diet. I owe my recovery to one thing though, asimba.com. I went on the most demanding diet, took up running full time, and rebuilt my body. Now I am in the best shape of my life, lost 50 pounds, and actually could of came back for my senior season but thats a different story altogether.
