Portland Luis Scola 6-10 230 PF (Argentina) 1980 I just have to say that I would honestly be happy with ANY of these with our first pick. I would be thrilled with any of these with our second pick! I think its a really deep class this year and I think whoever it is we end up with is gonna help us immediately, with maybe the exception of Amare. If I had my pick, I would take Amare. SO WHO DO YOU GUYS WANT?
All of the players listed have potential, however, I think the Rockets need a player who can contribute right away (preferably someone in the league now). I highly doubt we are getting Toronto's pick this year, its lottery protected, and unless they make a great run they'll keep there pick this year.
If I were to pick for the Rockets, my first pick out of those players would be: 1. Yao Ming - This guy is going to give fits to the opposing team, I seen him play the u.s. team(carter, allen, etc.) in the olymipics and he was blocking shots left and right! He's the real deal defensively. 2. Jason Williams - To trade. The guy is Francis twin! Should get us a proven star in return. 3. Drew Gooden - Powerful inside game. I drool just thinking of teaming Gooden and Griffin together, defense and rebounding galore! 4. Dajuan Wagner - This pick is sort of the "best avaliable" left. The guy is so quick, can shoot it anywhere and drive in traffic. He honestly reminds me of a taller bigger Iverson. I don't think anyone would complain again about small ball with him replacing Moochie. 5. Qyntel Woods - I'm just not sold on him yet. Though if all is true about what's said about him I might take him before everyone but Ming.
