The NBA Draft Lottery is one week from today ... last year I just wanted teams NOT in the West to get the top two picks (Oden, Durant) and I got burned twice. This year there also are two gem picks at the top (Beasley, Rose) ... so who do you want to get the top two picks? Here's the order of teams with the best chances: 1. Miami 2. Seattle 3. Minnesota 4. Memphis 5. New York 6. LA Clippers 7. Milwaukee 8. Charlotte 9. Chicago 10. New Jersey 11. Indiana 12. Sacramento 13. Portland 14. Golden St.
i dont really mind who wins it. Excluding maybe GS, whichever team does win it wont be competing for championships while the Rockets are anyway (2-3 years.) If Portland somehow pulls it off again, oh my. Oden Aldridge Outlaw Roy Rose That team has EVERYTHINGGG
NO kidding. I'm hoping Portland stays at 13... I think they're a candidate to trade that pick. On karma alone, I don't want Miami (Riley) nor Memphis (Gasol tank trade) to win it. I don't want Seattle to get another piece. Basically I don't like the top 5 teams, but more than likely the top two picks will come from those 5. I'd be cool with Milwaukee, Charlotte or the Clippers.
Anyone in the East, our midget PG's don't want to see Rose. If it's a Western team I'd rather have them take Beasley, we match up better with him. The NBA was at it best when Boston and New York were good (and the Lakers and Bulls) It gets more attention in the sports pages. So, I'm going to say The Knicks. The country's biggest market shouldn't have a team that's a laughing stock. (not to derail but I have been trying to figure any way the Rockets can move up in this draft...what would it take to move up to Portland's pick?)
Since there are only three Western Conference teams in there, I want neither of them to get any better-especially Golden State. According to many mock drafts, Chase Budinger is in their range-boy, if that happens-look out!
And with the number 1 pick of the 2008 NBA draft, the Houston Rockets selects..................... ((Oh my God, its a freaking Miracle))
New York, Charlotte, Chicago, Indy NY: Would be fun to see them get Rose and him run under D'Antoni. And I'd like to see them get turned around...tired of this horrid team. Charlotte: Again, tired of them sucking. Not sold on Felton or Okafor (never was). So I hope they get one of the 2. Chicago: It'd be a good story if they're able to pick up Beasley and address their shortcomings and suddenly actually become respectable. Also, if they don't get the pick, they're gonna get blown up either this year or next. (Which I guess could be good for the Rockets if we can scrape some of the pieces out) Indy: Tinsley experiment needs to be killed. Jermaine needs to be dealt for a fresh start. Either way, they could really really use one of the 2. I feel bad for a team that was so close before the event in Detroit. And I want Jermaine to leave (for his sake) and Tinsley to leave for everyone's sake.
I'm going to root for New York - it's been a long time and a not-awful Knicks team really helps the perception of the league.
CHicago has fared well in the last couple lotterys, oh ya those were NY's picks. I think Chicago gets #1.
Miami because I like Wade. It would be great to see the Knicks get Rose as their PG too. Charlotte would be my 3rd choice. I don't think this year's draft is as deep as last year but I don't want to see either Beasley or Rose on a Western Conference team.
Anyone from the East. The West is just too stacked right now. New York preferably over Miami because Miami tanked to get there and have a much easier road back into contention even if they add no players besides the ones they draft.
The one thing Isaiah did well was draft. He picked Tracy McGrady for Toronto, and the only players on the current Knicks who have any value are the ones he drafted, David Lee Nate Robinson Renaldo Balkman and such.
I think that there are more than three Western Conference teams in the Lottery. NBA Conference Standings Did you mean Pacific Division? NBA Division Standings?
