Assuming we do get there, & I believe we will, who do you want the Rockets to face in the 1st round? We're currently tied for the 8th seed & are only 3 games in back of the 6th seed, with 14 games to go. We play Utah(#7) & the Lakers(#6) once more each this year. So, we could end up anywhere from the #6 to #8 seed.

    The most likely candidates are:

#1) Dallas: -- (14 games left) (1 ea. with SA, Port, Minn)
    #2) Sacramento: -3½ (13 games left) (1 with Portland)
#3) San Antonio: -3 (14 games left) (1 ea. with Dallas & Portland)
#4) Portland: -7 (14 games left) (1 ea. with Dallas, Sac, SA, & Minn)
    #5) Minnesota: -7½ (11 games left) (1 ea. with Dallas & Portland)

I'd say that it really comes down to just Dallas, Sacramento, & San Antonio. Who do we match up with the best?

    I'll go with San Antonio.

Rockets match up best with Sacramento. San Antonio is just too tough on D and Mavs too tough on O.

Man, this is tough b/c DAL has pretty much made us (the Rockets) their b**** this season. With that said, the consensus with most experts (Wibon and Kornheiser of PTI, David Dupree of USA Today, etc.) seem to think when the playoff starts the MAVs lack of D could give them trouble against the Rockets or Lakers or even Suns for that matter.

The thing about the Spurs is and Kings is that these teams are seen as LEGIT NBA champion contenders, so the likelyhood of a first-round upset might be, well, less likely.

Hmmm...with that said, I guess I'd say the Spurs. Aside from beating them this year, even in the games we've lost the Rockets have been right there to win.

Kings is the easiest for Rockets. Spurs second. Mavs, hmm, we just don't have a chance.

I don't want Dallas. Unless Nowitzki is injured!!! whoo....or michael finley is injured. or steve nash. I know that is cruel.....but we have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF BEATING THEM.
Sacramento........they are the best team in the NBA...but we can beat them. :)
San Antonio......could also whoop us badly.....but we could at least maybe win one time...
Minnesota...also very good. Can whoop us if they are playing their best. But we can also beat them if everyone has an EXCELLENT DAY.
Portland. They are beatable. But we won't be playin them.
Los Angeles Clippers. PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THEM. They are capable of beating us.

Most likely...we will be facing the Mavericks....if we make the playoffs. And that won't be very good...:) :(

Bring any one of em' on! If we don't make the playoffs, this season has been a success. If we do, then great! If we get put out in the first round, the true Rockets fans will not be pouting and bashing this team. But I do have hope. If we get put out in the first round then we will win atleast 2 games. We have a rookie which is a big part our team has changed from last season. He is still learning. Be patient and our championship(s) will come. Let's go Rockets! You've made me one proud fan this season. Thanks to all the players and the well-loved (from the real fans) Rudy T.!

Bring on the Mavs. We can play 'em tougher than you think...

Get the ball into the low blocks, play some perimeter D and quit yapping to the press and the referees.

    Humble, hungry and focused.

think the only team the rockets can win in a playoff series out of all those would be Minny.

No D but too much O. We can hold our own on defense but they're offense runs our defense to death and we dont have any offense after defending their own offense. :) keepin' up?

I would most love to face the lakers and knock their undeserving asses right out in the first round... however, that's not going to happen.. plus I guess I'd rather let San Antonio or the Kings bounce them.

Overall, I'd pick Sac.. just because we match up better with them...

What's really depressing is that every team listed has an amazing power forward, who's drooling at the chance to go head to head against EG.

    KG
    CW
    TD
    DN

It's not going to be pretty.

But of those teams, I'd prefer the T Wolves.

I say Spurs. We've beaten and lost in close games there. Dallas just kills us. Even the Texans won a game against Dallas, albeit they only play one game. Still Dallas Mavericks owns us. Sacramento, well I want to give them their chance to knock down the Lakers before we kock them out:D

Record-wise. But I think the Mavs would be good. To get the monkey off our back.

T-Wolves. They just aren't good enough to win in the playoffs. They are similar to the Spurs, except that Duncan is better than Garnett, and that makes all the difference. I think it will be another first round exit for the big ticket. Unless he takes a paycut that team is going nowhere.
