The season is coming up hoo, ha, hoo hoo, hoo ha!

I am so happy to think about it. The day will come...It will be grand and great...You can almost see it now, eh?

It is hard to say if established players will surprise like Cat, Steve, ...Cato?

Who do you think will surprise (in positive fashion..) the most? Boki, Yao, Brown?, Griffin?

If I was picking I'd say Boki since he is so unknown, yet the coaches are so confident in his abilities...Let's be honest we haven't really seen him as much as Yao, but he is talked about to play a definite role in the rotation...We here of his finishing abilities that sound so good, the shooting and such...This sounds like an ideal small forward to complement the established game of steve and Cat.

Boki. I've read two articles about what stars are not in the WC's and his name came up twice. He's known by serious basketball followers, but what I think will suprise people about him is above the rim game which hasn't been seen by a Euro player.

To the NON BELIEVER Yao Ming will surprise them all! To us positive Rox dreamers, Nachbar will surprise us! Remember the Rox still have a little work to do on twigging the Roster,so there might be one or two more surprises to come!

Please tell me you're just speculating. Because if you have inside info and won't tell me, you will be the cause of my insomnia.

Maybe Tito Maddox. Something's in the air when you have an all star pg and a solid backup and still draft another.

I'm excited about the young players as well, but I think that either Rice, Taylor, or Griffin will be the biggest surprises. If Rice & Taylor are healed up, they'll surprise everyone that has written them off, just because they were out with injuries for a year. As for Griffin, if the reports that we've read about him are true, & he has developed a nice low post game to go with his already sweet outside game, then he might be our permanent starting PF by the end of the year.

    Maddox or Torres.

Maddox might have been a late 1st round pick, if he hadn't erronenously left school after the 01 season. He has good size for a PG, and couldn't be worse than the Mooch.

Torres had a solid WC, and will be in his 2nd year, where players usually make a big improvement. It wouldn't surprise me if Torres was used as our SF, if we go to a small lineup.

I think Torres and Nachbar will both be surprises. Torres will have to earn that backup shooting guard slot and Nachbar will be anxious to test his skills against NBA comp.

I think Torres, Nachbar, and Maddox will all be "surprises".

Yao really can't be a "surprise" because he is already hyped/expected to be exceptional, much like Steve was not a "surprise" when he arrived.

It wouldn't be a "surprise" per se, because we already know what they are capable of, but Rice and MT bouncing back and playing like they are capable of would be a pleasant, if not expected, "surprise".

I would be "surprised" if Eddie didn't make a quantum leap in his overall game, with more inside offensive presence. Maybe he will be an offensive rebound monster with Ming's inside presence/help.

Maybe Mooch will "surprise" us and not dribble too much, and Cat will "surprise" us and not hog the ball as much.

HotToddie's right about MoT, Rice and Griff. Yao, even if he's an all-star is going to still disappoint some people here - not to mention the media who still have ideas what a 7'6 players in shoes should be. Nachbar is all 3rd hand information at this point.
But we've seen MoT and Rice for years. If Mo goes to another level then this team is definitely in the playoffs and may win the first round if they can come in at least the 6th seed. If Rice has a Rice-like year (likely his body has too much mileage) it probably will mean the Rox are really exceeding my expectations and he benefits big-time. Griffin, we just don't know when it will happen, it might be mid-season next year, but if it happens mid-season this year - remember exceeding expectations, we all know he's going be improved - it will still take another training camp to re-orient this team offensively and defensively. This year with Yao coming in there's already going to be huge growing pains. M.A.SH. guys and Cat devotees had better get used to their guys getting greater scutiny than they've ever had before. I think this season's going to be a wild ride, but it will be the surprises (there likely will be a couple) are going to be the fun part.

If KT is the most improve Rocket for the second year in a row, I think that makes him an All-Star. It would be nice, but I would be happy if he just maintains and Griffin really improves.
