I first thought Miller or Miles but seeing an increased interest in Dermarr leads me to him. Although I still want Miller.

Moiso or Dermarr. That's trying to be realistic. I really want Martin, Swift, or Fizer. Too bad...Although Moiso is very tempting if he's actually 7' like another thread I was reading. He can shoot from 18-20' and he can run and jump. Dermarr is 6' 9-10" and has guard like game. I say ship out the Gizzard, Drew and KT, sign Croshere and draft Dermarr. If not I say keep the Gizzard (especially if he's gonna score 18-20 a game) and draft Moiso (and ship Kenny and Bryce Drew's ass out either way)

I also think it's basically down to Moiso and Dermarr. I'm having a real tough time to decide, I'm leaning Dermarr, but having a 7'0'' PF that can leap, with long arms, a jump shot, and a post up game would be nice.

But, I personally think we could possibly get the #10 pick from Orlando. Perhaps some sort of package of the pick they owe us, the Detroit pick, and taking a player off their hands with the exception, so they clear space, add a pick, and no longer need to give us a pick. It'd be kind of risky if that Detroit pick became top 5, but imagine this team for next year: Cato/Hakeem, Moiso/KT, Walt/DJ, Shandon/Cuttino, Francis/Moochie. We'd have depth, then could make some trades to get another star, if both DJ and Moiso don't pan out (I'm pretty sure one of them will.) Orlando may not want to give up #10 though, just a thought I had.

I am in agreement that the finalists are DerMarr Johnson and Jerome Moiso. Up until about the last couple of days, I did not think Cleveland would be crazy enough to pass on Johnson, but now it looks like they are. I was reading in their TSN that they will take Tskalidis if he is on the board and also he measured well in the Chicago camp at 7-2 283 so that could only pique their interest.

This is a very close decision and could go either way on the Rockets part. I have been turning this over a good bit over the last few days and have come to the conclusion that DerMarr Johnson will be our man. It was real tough to decide this b/c both players are so good for this team. Sure it causes a potential minutes conflict with Cuttino Mobley, but Walt Williams can be dealt to free that up. Also, Johnson is the better basketball talent of the two and has more star potential. Aside from that, he has the DC connection with Steve Francis which should bode well in the chemistry department. This is a real tough decision as both players make such excellent cases, but I think DerMarr Johnson will win out by a hair.

I say Moiso. Demarr never took over for the Bearcats after Kenyon went down. His intensity is a big question. Moiso has the more consistent of the 2 players. IMO he is the less risky pick. I still would love to get Swift or Fizer but they will be gone before #9.

I don't know where the info on Moiso being 7 footer came from, but I wouldn't buy any snakeoil from them. He is maybe 6'10", with the emphasis on maybe.

    Doubling our chances:

There is a legitimate chance of getting picks at:

    - the Chicago #7, if they lose both center (Mihm and Pryz)opportunities and we still want to trade Cato.

    - Cavaliers #8, for the same reason.

    - Orlando's #10, if a comfortable trade would extinguish some of the Magic's future draft responsibilities and Miller is gone, Courtney is gone and Mo Pete is gone when #10 rolls around.

    - Detroit's #14, if we can put together a package of needables and swap a future and an owed pick, Detroit will talk turkey.

    - Clipper's #18, is very, very available with via the trade route. Can you say Drew, plus a healthy Carlos? Did I say "very available" ?

I would give some serious consideration to that (if it were really on the table). If we stay pat at center (Olajuwon & Cato), there is IMO a serious risk of injury next season. I'd use the 18th pick to look at a backup center (or a best available player scenario). From looking at all the mock drafts, either N'diaye or Magliore should be available at 18. I'd gamble on either of them (while taking the opportunity to trim the payroll for later possible moves).------------------

I certainly see the need for Moiso, DerMarr & Miller, but I still think that these guys are thinking beyond need & would take a talent at Guard if they felt that they could make moves later to improve over all & I won't be surprised that if I guy like Alexander gets passed on long enough that the Rockets wouldn't take him if they had a back up plan in works all ready.
