I personally think by the numbers Kevin Garnett has to be the early favorite for MVP, he is
    1st in Rebounds Per Game
    3rd in Points Per Game
    1st in Double- Doubles
6th in Blocked Shots Per Game
Just look at his numbers this season on his NBA.com bio

    Tim Duncan.

If you take Garnett off of the TWolves, they still have Sprewell, Cassell, Olowokandi, and Szczebiatch. That is three former all-stars and a #1 overall draft pick. The Spurs without Duncan have Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and a bunch of bench quality players. I don't think there are any all-stars on that team, and certainly no #1 overall picks. Tim Duncan quite simply makes any team a title contender. Kevin Garnett will get any team to the playoffs, but year after year he gets booted in the first round.

    Duncan...

20-win team without him, title contender with him.

I think Garnett's all round performance makes him the MVP leader for now.

Garnett deserves it. He's due for one of these.

Once again it is Garnett and Duncan. Let's see how things shake out for the rest of the season record wise and statwise. My gut says if both teams are close, it will go to Garnett simply because Duncan has won the award the last two years. Garnett had a terrific year last year and didn't get it.

It comes down to Garnett vs Duncan again. But my gut feeling is saying that Garnett will get it this time. He was so close last year, it's Kevin's time to win it now. Duncan deserves it again too, but I hope and believe that Garnett will win it this year. He deserves it.

Lebron. That team really really sucks without him.

The right answer has to be Yao.
    My backup choice is KG.
There is no way Duncan gets it again even if he deserves it.

That's the thinking that got Malone his first (undeserved) MVP. I say that as a KG fan.

The hard part is, no one's really taking their team to another level (record). The Kings have the best record, but I doubt Peja is going to get many nods. Kobe and Shaq are out because of Malone and Payton helping out (reason #1 why Kobe leaves this summer). The East is garbage and Kidd's having a weak year overall.

My bet is it'll be KG or Duncan, depending on the final team standings. Cassell and Spree doing well will hurt KG's chances, while Duncan's help hasn't been as great.

I'd say odds are on Duncan, though KG may be having the better year.

Baron Davis is having a monster season. He is at least the fantasy sports MVP.

He won't beat out Duncan, or KG, or Shaq, or Baron Davis but....

with Amare Stoudamire the Suns are a playoff team. Without him, they dismantled the team 6 weeks before the trade deadline. :D ;)
