Instead of starting all those "GO X" threads, why don't you guys just vote here and voice your reasons. Note: This is not a prediction poll. It's a WISH poll.
The Pacers, just for Reggie. And Dale Davis. They shouldve won in 2000. The Mavericks would be my second choice, because they are a Texas team, they are fun to watch, they've never won a title, and if they win then the Rockets lost to the champs. The Spurs third, I followed them before I did the Rockets and I've got family who are big fans, including my recently passed grandmother. Of the remaining teams, this would be my order of preference: 4.Pistons (why not? A repeat is a good story, unless it's the Lakers.) 5.Sonics (I like Nate McMillan. And their shooters are fun to watch when they're on.) 6.Suns (fun team to watch when they are not killing my team) 7.Heat (only for Stan, I would rank them higher but I really can't stand Shaq.) 8.Wizards. (still the dumbest name in the NBA. There was nothing wrong with Bullets, stupid PC thugs.)
Shaq and Wade... even if we'd made it, they may have won it anyway. Shaq ain't in his Magic days anymore.... and the Rockets have no Dream.
I hate the Spurs, but I guess just to stick it to Emperor Stern and his obsession with forcing run and gun basketball on the league(to the detriment of someone like Yao), I'll root for them to make it out of the West. I'd love for Detroit to win another title though. It would lead to horrible ratings(especially if they match up with the Spurs) and it would squash any notion that rule changes inhibiting half court offenses are a good idea.

I dislike the Spurs, but I like how the media doesn't talk about them nonstop. I would like a texas team to represent. Down with the Mavs.
I can't root for anybody in the west accpt the Rockets. To hell with any other Texas team. It's not that I'm rooting for the east, I'm just not rooting for anybody in the west besides the Rockets. I voted for Detroit. They're a good team and Larry Brown will not be coaching much longer and once he's gone the team will taper off. I can't vote Shaq another ring.
1. Heat - Gotta keep it within the family with the Van Gundy connection. 2. Spurs - they play hard and they play as a team. Tim Duncan really is a great superstar w/o the superstar attitude. 3. Pacers - Would really be great to see Reggie get a ring for sentimental reasons. I don't particularly like the rest of the pacers but Reggie is enough for me. I hate both Phoenix and now Dallas with a passion. It will suck because one of them has to move on.

HOF? Let Nique in before I'll consider this guy. 6) Mavs I hope Cuban will never get a championship in his life time. 5) Spurs They can not have more championships than us. 4) Sonics Never a fan of Ray Allen for some reason. IMHO, he's playing big this year for a big final contract. 3) Heat Shaq is not blameless for his seperation from LA. 2) Wizard It's funny to see them doing well after MJ left. 1) Pistons I always like the team concept thingy. It would be nice to see a "team" win again instead of the "team with the best player always win".
I'm pulling for a Suns/Heat Finals I want to see a lot of points scored, see if the "new Shaq (Amare)" can hang with REAL Shaq. I love D-Wade.....kid is just fantastic. It'd be a whole lota points scored. And oh yeah, I want ZO to get a ring.
