Say that the Rox have a pick in the lottery and early middle of the first round. Who do you pick? I myself have had my eye on four players who I think would help this team win games (make the playoffs) next year:

Chris Porter- This kid is 6'7'', 220. He would be agood fit at the three for us because he is athletic enough to run the floor with our horses. He is averaging 2 steals a game this season as well as 15 pts and 7 boards. His stock has fallen so he could be available as low as 10 depending on who comes out.

Chris Mihm- He would be a good compliment to our guards. He is not going to get up and down the floor with them, but he is a great half court player in the making. He and Cato would be awesome as a 4/5 combo. I doubt we are going to be in the position to draft him if he comes out ( I hope he doesn't)

Dermar Johnson- Another guy to put at the 3, my only problem with him is that he is too weak to play aginst other 3s. He would have to play the 2 for atleast a year which is already crowded. However, the guy is going to be great if we wanted to wait on him.

Terence Morris- we have all talked about him, he probably going to stay in school.

I also like Stromile Swift a whole lot, as well as Joel Pryzbilla. In a couple of years, I would love to see the Rox draft Mike Miller out of Florida. This kid reminds me of Wally World in Minnesota.

What do you all think? Is there anyone else that you all like this year or next?

Kenyon Martin.. best player in the country. He does it all.

Demarr Johnson.. 6'9 and very athletic.

Terrence Morris.. Not having a great year but is a great player. Dont think he will come out.

Etan Thomas.. he reminds me of a minni martin. 6'9 and plays great defense.

Pete Mikeal... 6'7 he has excellent defense and can score.

These players are players I wouldnt mind having.

Here's my take on your players

Porter-This is guy is small for a PF. He's also too slow to guard the SFs. He is a tweener. He absolutely went into a free fall in the beginning of the season, but has picked it up lately.

Mimh-I wouldn't get him unless its like our last choice. He's not the type of player we need, plus there are several other centers like Woods I would rather pick.

Johnson-This is a very talented 6-9 guard. Very rarely happens. Don't think he'll come out but if he's also a good pick.

Morris-This is the guy we crave. A big 3 who can score, play d, and can do it all. Being Francis' old teammate is a plus. However, he's a junior and there's a possibility we won't come out.

    Players I like:

    Morris and Johnson-Already mentioned.

Moiso-very tall and lanky PF. Very versatile and similar to Rogers.

Martin-I can't believe he ain't on your list. This guy is undersized but is very dominanting.

Swift-I like to watch him just for his dunks. Massive flyer.

Darius Miles/Eddie Griffen-2 of the HS players probably will come out. If we lose out on Morris/Martin, might as well gamble on them. Could pay off. Both potential Odoms.

Woods-He's the best center. Could improve reboundng but a great blocker. Got 14 blocks in one game. Probably won't come out.

Pete Mickeal is somewhat like Mobley or Finley coming out. Not perfect but sometimes can take over games. He probably be a mid first. When he's hot he's absolutely scary. However, when he's cold well he hurts his team's offense quite a lot. Somewhat like Mobley. I would take that gamble, not to mention I love his defense. Very top notch.

Give me Swift first then my next choice is close between Morris Peterson and Terrence Morris.

I would have put Martin on my list, but barring a lot of luck with the pinp pong balls the Rockets haven't a chance. I am not sol don him either though. When he gets into the NBA where he faces guys as athletic as he is every night how much will size hurt him. He is what, 6'7''?

We won't get Martin. But if the balls drop in our favor, you definitely can't pass Kenyon up.

I like Dermarr Johnson, but I am not convinced he could contribute at the next level. He lacks an NBA body, and what position would he play in the league? Forward? Two guard? I can't see him at shooting guard, due to him only possessing decent range and an inconsistent jumper. He is athletic and a good slasher though. Reminds me of Ray Jackson from Michigan's Fab Five....and where did he end up?

Loren Woods won't be available this year in my opinion, and neither will Terrence Morris.

Pete Mickeal is an interesting prodigy. I think he has an NBA game. But we have guards!

Mihm? I like this kid. Would be a decent back up center. He is semi-athletic, runs the floor well, and has a good array of post moves. I think he can be a solid role player in the league right out of the gate. Remember Doleac?

I have been leaning towards porter lately since he may be around when the rockets pick

    Here's my list

    1.Morris
2.Mihm-needs to work on getting open, but the best at college level once he has the ball.
    3.Woods-Cato II
4.Martin-the best in college regular season
    5.Porter
    6.dermarr
    7.Cleaves-too good to pass up
    8.Penn
    9.Quenten Richardson
    10. Erick Barkley

If the rockets have 2 picks in 1st rd, I am hoping they draft Porter and Barkley.

I would go with Kenyon if at all possible but that's dreaming.I hope one of these guy's would be available mid round 1)Mickeal 2)Morris 3)Swift 4)Porter 5)D.Johnson

I would be happy with any of those guy's.I just hope Rudy doesn't do something stupid like pick Hanno Mottola or Jason Collier.

I believe Da Man has talked about this guy before. Near the top of the list for a new Rocket has to Mr. Morris.......Peterson. I want a swing man that can shoot, which Porter and many others can't. I like "The Show" Arceneaux as well, who has even better numbers--though he has far inferior players around him and plays in a weaker league. If either of these guys truly measure out at 6'6" and have the body to play SF in the pros, they are on my short list.

I have watched Mihm his whole career and he is lightyears better than Doleac, that being said I think that he will be closer to a Cato/Laettner combo. I think that Porter is our guy. He has the skill to have been the best rated player in the preseason but slumped (many say due to the cream puff teams Auburn played). He has improved his jumper and may be the best fit into our running game. I just hope that we get a pick in the top five!!!! That way we are in control of who we want. We can either stay there or package Drew and the pick to move up to maybe three. I wish we knew which underclassmen were coming out though, the only one for sure is Pryzbilla from Minnesota

What do you think about Gabe Muneoke as our second round pick? He can put up some serious numbers and looks like a strong 3 who can shoot and take it to the rack. He could be a steal, but Harold Arceneaux couldbe one too.

I haven't been overly impressed with Mihm.

I just don't consider a college center who shot 4 - 15 in a game to be something we want. If a player is not gonna dominate in college at the center position, how is he gonna produce in the NBA?

I've also not seen the kind of athleticism from him that would make me hope we got him.

Muoneke is a great banger and crash the boards with the best of them. But what about his discipline problems? I would rather the Rocks take a guy who they know won't get in trouble. Remember Roy Tarpley for the Mavs? We do not need a Roy Tarpley.

Muoneke has had one, count it, one tech this year. That is a far cry from his past seasons. I think that this shows a dedication to winning and a the maturity to control his temper. I think he could be a great addition to the rox in a chucky brown sort of way. In my oppinion he has a far greater upside than Najera because of his quickness and perimeter shot (out to 15'').

You're right UT Baller, he has improved his attitude problem alot this year. But I'd still be cautious.
