Am I crazy or is there a strong possiblity that we will get Miami's 2nd round pick? I think I've read that we are almost certain to get a 2nd round pick this year from Miami. If that is true, who would you guys draft (assuming we couldn't trade the pick).

I like Steve Logan. I think he as the talent to be an excellent PG in the NBA. If we invited Brown back and drafted Logan, Moochie would become expendible and a tradeable commodity. Also, if Gizzard slips into the 2nd round, then we have a real talented back up for Cuttino. As far as big men, McGee looks interesting, but he might be a tweener. I've always like Yarbourgh. Also the guy from Michigan St. (pg) is a nice pick up too.

What about giving Lee Benson a shot...6'11" and can shoot...im sure he knows how to rough it up too after playing in the prison leagues...anyone else think hes worth a mid-late 2nd rd pick?

for our second round pick we must take a point guard!

no im not crazy, or joking.

we need someone on our summer league team to push tierre brown to improve. whoever does better in the summer league and training camp, between the two, will make the team.

our top two picks we go for:

    1. talent
    2. size

and we get those two by trading the picks for young vets.

Point guards huh. I think you might have something there. Logan, Smuch Parker (Fordham), Tito Maddox, Lenny Cooke. What is the name of that PG who keeps trying to come out early from Michigan St? He's supposed to be really talented.

Which 2nd round point guards do yall like?

What's the deal with Benson? Who is he? How talented is he?

If Benson is there, take him....the Rocks need to toughen up, and this guy is a really good player.

Whomever takes a flyer on him is going to be VERY happy.

Benson is an ex con. He is 6'11 and hasnt payed organized ball since before he went to prison (i think early 90's) Supposedly he has played in the prison league while being incarcerated and scouts have gone to see him on occasion. He was featured on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and it showed how he has been working on his game in an attempt to play in the NBA (or CBA) and get his life on track.

To me, most 2nd rounders are a crapshoot anyway so why not take a shot. They say you cant teach size and he is 6'11". I dont know how realistic is it that he will get picked but if he is there at 53 (i think thats where we pick) then maybe we give him a shot.

I would take Benson anywhere in the 2nd round. I'm not to keen on anyone else. I'm not sure a PG is a good position to draft for. We have Tierre who is developing nicely and we also have the rights to Kyle Hill.

I would take a gamble on whoever is left at the center position. I don't see us getting Ming. I see us taking a center in the first round and if we add another in the second we could eventually get rid of Collier and/or Cato.

Chris Owens out of Univ. of Texas. He was an all star before he blew out his knee and missed his entire senior season. He can do it: Slam, Block, D, and just play ball.

We always find a gem in the 2nd round, and I call this one as a perfect fit for our team.

If we end up with multiple second round picks, I'd like to package them to try and move up to get Marcus Taylor, who will probably go very early in the second.

Consider Jeri Welsch, a 6-6 SG / PG who is a solid defender and good shot. Also, he meets DaDakota's plea for a European player. He would give us another tall, athletic SG and/or a tall PG backup who knows when and how to pass.

I think we should take a 2 guard as insurance for the Torres contract talks.

    I agree 100%

If Jiri Welsch is there take him.

If he is even close to as good as what I am reading then do it.

Yarborough or that kid from Marshall, Tamar Slay. If not maybe a PG or another Center.

Benson is exactly what our team needs: an intimidator in the Kenyon Martin mold.
