Please try to limit it to your 3 favorite bands. Just curious to see how broad everyone's taste's are.

I like classic/heavy/modern/punk/metal, pretty much all kinds of rock and rap, so my three favorite bands are in three very different genres.

    In Order
    1. Led Zeppelin
    2. Nirvana
    3. 50 Cent

Hope this thread hadn't been done before...since I've been registered I only checked out the GARM, so the hangout is a totally new thing to me.

    Mine would probably be:
    1. Ramones
    2. Nelly
    3. Oasis

All of them are COMPLETELY different

    Man, this never gets old!

    1. The Police (still praying for a reunion tour)

    2. Weezer
    3. Ben Folds Five

#'s 2 and 3 change periodically, but #1 has never and will never change. :) DMB is climbing steadily...

These are my favorite bands as opposed to my favorite musicians which mean more to me than any particular band. Too many to list.

what's so funny about oasis? sure they might not be remembered with zeppelin, the stones, the who, etc. but they're every bit as important in their time as friggin dave matthews. (actually i think his band is amazingly talented, but my point is the same.) they almost single-handedly brought back rock n roll in england and just about owned the mid-nineties.

Woah, woah, woah...are you criticising 50 for using a stupid line or did you post that cuz you like the ingenious of it? I think that's a great line man. Just the fact that he'd say that in a song and actually make it flow deserves some props.

Least you got Led Zepp in there too (like me), that's what I'm talkin about! They changed their sound so much from hard rock to blues, etc. They were revolutionary and can't be topped in my opinion.

Don't know, my taste changes sometimes and depends on the mood, but I'd say that the Beatles, Supertramp and Genesis are up there.

    Yes, I am old.

    1. Jimi Hendrix
    2. Elvis
    3. The Doors

#3 changes a lot, but Jimi And Elvis always remain.

I just can't get into a lot of new bands. I listen to newer music, but it can't touch the music of the 1950's-1960's.

no no, i love that song. i think its genius. i wait for that part everytime the song is played.

i dont know. maybe because after whats the story morning glory? they've pretty much churned out the same sounding mediocre music again and again.
and they're all lousy musicians. wasn't there a time where people made fun of noel for being on the cover of a reputable guitar magazine?
oh add in their embarassing feud with blur (which is a band i'd laugh at too), their bigger than jesus promise, their funny looking tough guy out of bed expressions, etc.
and lastly its because i'm a music snob. :D
