OKC for sure. We want them at the #1 seed. We want to avoid them. We also want to be a #6 seed over a #7. Lakers v. Golden State offers more questions because we all want the Lakers to miss the playoffs so we can get closer to enticing Duhwight.
It's OKC. If the Rockets move up to #6, they'd play either Denver or Memphis in the first round instead of OKC or SAS.
I would rather move up; I want the Thunder to beat GS. I don't like trying to position for the "easier" opponent. All the teams in the playoffs are going to be a challenge for the young Rockets, especially the 1-3 seeds. Just beat every body in front of you. We have seen all season that on any given night almost anybody in the NBA can beat anyone else. Also even in a series a team can get hot or cold.

Why do you think that? Since Gallinari and Lawson are injured, I think we have a great matchup against Denver. And by then, Parsons will be back. Did you watch the Denver/SA game last night? For the first 3 quarters, Denver had problems with their half-court offense and looked very beatable. Andre Miller is 37 years old. How long do you think he can play uptempo basketball? And what if he gets in foul trouble? Do they even have another PG on their roster? To answer the question, we should all root for OKC not only b/c we want the #6 seed, but also b/c it impacts SAS and GSW (both of whom will play the Lakers one more time). SAS wants the #1 seed, and if OKC is a half-game ahead of them, the Spurs could view the LAL game as a "must-win" game. Similarly, if GSW wants the #6 seed (and face Denver in the playoffs), they would also view the LAL game as a "must-win".
As much as I'd like to think that the Rockets could do some serious damage in the playoffs, in all likelihood we're not making a deep run. In that case, I think I might rather see OKC for the pure excitement (and stage) that matchup could bring.
I agree OkC is tough matchup for us. If we can control getting 6th or dropping a game to get to 7th then we can at least have choice between Nuggets or Spurs.
0-4 against Denver this season would make you want to avoid them in the first round. But then again, we've only faired slightly better against the Spurs 1-3. We lost the game against Denver with both Lawson AND Gallinari injured, whereas we fought tooth and nail and won the game with the Spurs big three. But we also had home court advantage for that Spurs game. All in all, we're most likely going to lose (not swept, we're too good for that) in the first round, so I would rather OKC win (because I don't like GSW) but we stay in 7th because I wanna see a good old Texas SHOWDOWN!
Since we are 0-4 against Denver and have not even come close to beating them, I have no particular interest in the 6 spot. I'd rather rest our players if we get a chance to hold on to 7. So I'm not rooting for either OKC or GSW tonight: I'll just enjoy watching fate take its course.
Its just not the same with no lakers in the playoffs. i hope they make it. and then lose miserably later.
We were also on a second night of a B2B where we came in really really early in the morning to Denver. I'm sorry, I would take the Spurs or Denver equally at this point. How is this a question though? We want OKC to get the top seed to avoid them at all cost and we Golden State to lose so we can pass them up.
I dont honestly think we will beat either team but from a personal standpoint being the 6th seed will probably be better for me as I am surrounded by Knicks fans and am sick to death of hearing them say the Rockets got lucky and backed into the playoffs.
I feel like the Warriors have played mostly crap teams the past couple weeks. Now they get OKC, Lakers on the road, and SA Here's hoping for a 3 game losing streak...
Exactly the opposite, Morey has said the NBA playoffs are the most predictable of any sport. Over a seven game series with hundreds of possessions, the better team wins, there is no "getting hot".
Knicks got lucky they are in the east. This team that "backed" in the playoffs ripped their asses apart this season.
