I'd have to agree with your ten, arno, except I think Vince Carter and Paul Pierce should be ahead of Jason Kidd. Actually, Carter should be ahead of Francis too(although not by much). And I would have Kobe as number one. And now the more I think about it...I feel somewhat uncomfortable with Jordan at ten, but I can't think of anyone to replace him...oh yeah...Tracy McGrady ahead of Kidd, Pierce, Francis and Nowitzki...screw it...here's my list...

    1. Kobe
    2. Duncan
    3. Shaq
    4. Garnett
    5. Carter
    6. McGrady
    7. Francis
    8. Pierce
    9. Kidd
    10. Nowitzki

To be honest I don't think Jordan belongs in a list of the NBA's top ten players this year.

Any list that doesn't have Shaq at number 1 isn't a list of the best players in the NBA.

Will have to put some thought into who would go in my top 10 and in what order but I definitely would have Iverson somewhere in the top 10 and definitely ahead of Jordan (this year anyway).

TheFreak:Shaq is a great player, but he isn't the best. He is the most dominant, but not the best.

    2. Duncan
    3. Pierce
    4. Kobe
    5. Shaq
    6. Carter
    7. Francis
    8. McGrady
    9. Nowitzki

Could someone explain to me the difference between being most dominant and best?

I'm guessing that it means O'Neal isn't really that "skilled." He's huge and freakishly quick for a guy his size, but isn't really the "best." I disagree. All of the guys in the NBA have been blessed with amazing physical skills. O'Neal's just at the extreme end of it. He's the most dominant. He's the best.

    My list:

    1. O'Neal
    2. Duncan
    3. Kobe
    4. McGrady
    5. Jason Kidd
    6. Paul Pierce
    7. Michael Jordan
    8. Rasheed Wallace
    9. Allen Iverson
    10. Ray Allen

Toward the end that list gets a bit random.

As good as Shaq is, you can't give it to him down the stretch cause he can't make free throws. He's the most dominant player in the game, but not quite the top until he can be a weapon in the fourth quarter.

    1. Tim Duncan
    2. Tracy McGrady
    3. Allen Iverson
    4. Kobe Bryant
    5. Shaquille O'Neal
    6. Steve Francis
    7. Dirk Nowitzki
    8. Vince Carter
    9. Jason Kidd
    10. Kevin Garnett

Bah, I'd really like to find out if there's a single GM in the league who wouldn't rather have Shaq than Tim Duncan.

Although no one would agree with my number one because everyone goes by stats. I think that in due time Sheed will prove his worth, especially tomorrow on tnt vs Webber. With the very hott Blazers who have gone 6 and 1 in there last 7 games.
