No Booker or Mitchell or Jaylen Brown. Not people making 40+. Not even Trae Young or Desmond Bane. Who are some high upside shooting guards out there that we could realistically trade for with a package that includes the #10 pick and some other filler?

The two that come to mind to me are Coby White and Bennedict Mathurin.

First thought was Coby White but he might be more of a FVV replacement than a Green replacement

People might say Herro, Reaves, etc...

But I wonder if Detroit would consider Ivey? I don't think they have a big reason to

Sexton is another name that might get thrown around, but the fact that you have make a deal with Ainge is ugh

Derrick white would be beautiful or Pritchard would be a great fit for this team. I said it before that the celtics need to get below the 2nd apron otherwise they are going to be taxed into oblivion.

    D. White or Jaylen Brown are going to be expendable. They also have championship experience

Quentin Grimes should be target 1A) for a SNT target
Derrick White would be a perfect addition if the Rockets want to spend a little more assets on a guard.

the two biggest misses of Stone's drafting all happened in year 1 of the rebuild where someone in the FO saved his ass by targeting Alperen Sengun.

    1) taking Green over Mobley (it was a toss up at the time but hindsight is 20/20 and Jalen was much smaller than the public was told where he listed at 6-5/6-6 most places and we even heard his wingspan was as high at 7 foot, but in reality he is 6-3 with a 6-5/6-6 wingspan)
    2) taking Christopher over Grimes (this was much more egregious at the time)

Assuming Tre Johnson is gone by #10, I'd just take Jase Richardson with the 10th pick. You aren't getting a high end SG making mid-level money for the 10th pick.

Jase Richardson just measured in at 6'-0 1/2" at the combine. I doubt anyone touches him in the top 20.

    Malik Beasley
    Quentin Grimes
    Ty Jerome
    Keon Ellis

These are just some that may be available through free agency.

Relatively cheap would be CJ McCollum and Anfernee Simons. They're both on rebuilding/retooling teams and aren't part of their teams' long-term plans. Guys like Coby White, Herro, or Grimes would probably command a premium IMO.

What is a premium? Tyler Herro could be had for maybe Jalen and Tari. Coby White I feel would be the hardest to get.

I love Jase's game, but there's no way we can have him and Reed as a backcourt pairing with their size unfortunately.

You asked what shooting guards would be available for a package that includes the #10 pick and some other filler. White, Herro, and Grimes will not be available for that. For Herro specifically I think they would ask for at least Jalen, another one of our youngsters with potential (maybe Jabari or Reed), and a pick. Herro is only 25 and Riley has not been willing to include him in trades for superstars in the past, despite being in win now mode with Butler on the roster. I would be extremely surprised if Riley traded him for Jalen and Tari now.

Amen Thompson should be a starting guard, and the Rockets should start a PF and find a dead-eye SF.

Go out and get Coby White. He’s an ascending player. He’s going to be an allstar. He can play either guard spot, very efficient, only 25 and he’s got good size. If Ime can get him to play good defense that’s a core backcourt piece. I believe Coby White is more attainable than Herro. I suspect #10 and Jalen would get you close, and that would be worth it. I’d feel a lot better about our backcourt with Fred, Coby and Reed; they can all shoot and handle the ball. Amen, Coby and Reed also looks good to me longer term.

Keon Ellis would be my choice, his advanced stats are so, so good. I feel he could be a breakout star. Second choice would be Andrew Nembhard.

If the Rockets trade Jalen for Ant and Alperen for Giantus we could be pretty good next year.

Agree as far as Herro, and White are concerned. Herro would however address a lot of need on offense. Grimes though is in an interesting position. He showed out in Philadelphia to the point that he may have priced himself out for Phila to afford. Embiid and PG are already on long term deals that look to be two of the worst contracts in the league as both guys have either declined or are never healthy. Additionally, Maxey will be earning close to 40 million next year. that is 140 million tied up in three players.

Besides being able to afford to pay Grimes, where will the minutes come from? They are already set in the backcourt with Maxey and McCain. Oubre is still under contract. If Grimes has the opportunity to be a starter, would he not want to move on as well? Phila could retain Grimes because he is a RFA but seems unlikely. A S&T seems more likely, which will greatly reduce the asking price.
