it's clearly for the rox to go to the next level that

    1. yao must continue to be the 1st option in the halfcourt set, but needs to work on double team situations and cut down his turnovers and mistakes.
    2. tmac needs to improve his play by raising his fg% and continue to get everyone involved.

if yao and tmac can coexist peacefully during the remaining of the their career, we are lookin at at least 4 championships here. :D

It shows TMAC is a grown man, a mature man. We should feel lucky to have such a superstar in this team.

    Heh.

For McGrady, why have it at the extremes?

Instead of scoring 28+ PPG, or instead of scoring 12-15 PPG, why not just pick and choose when to take over? He used to do that with the Rockets, but he doesn't anymore.

He should be giving Yao and his team all the looks possible but when it comes time for a big shot, or help this team close in on a team when behind, or to keep this team from falling too far (the breakdowns), he should be taking over like it was his Orlando days, regardless of his athleticism currrently. So forget the PPG, on certain nights, score 12, other nights when the call comes, drop 30 or more. T-Mac just needs to lead the team in that sense.

He is still one of the most talented players in the league, forget about just offensive. There are a countless number of guys who dream to be in the NBA, and then there are tons of guys in the NBA who dream to be like Tracy McGrady. That's saying something about how good he is.

That's why we love Tmac. He's the most unselfish superstar in the league now. He doesn't care about his own stats as long as the team keeps winning. I'd think he enjoys a 10 assists ball game more than a 30 points one. But Tmac has to try to take over games in the 4th quarter when the other teams collapse on Yao under the basket. He can defer to Yao in the first 3 quarters but he has to be our closer in the final phase of the game. I know Tmac can do it.

I think McGrady should be the scorer and playmaker in the 4th quarter. Pls not Alston. Maybe it's just me, I feel that McGrady is a bit passive this season during the 4th quarter. The old McGrady will take over the game in the 4th.

Come to think of it, maybe McGrady is trying to save it for the playoff. At least, he is not over asserting himself at this stage of the season. Have to take care of the back, eh? ;)

That shows some major maturity from TMac, and I applaud him for saying that. The team has been playing well with him as the second option and Yao as the first. TMac will have his nights when he'll be the man and the team will ride off him, but he's been great as a team player passing the ball and scoring at critical times in the game. No team has anyone who can hold Yao, and he's been very aggressive this year. Remember, it was Shaq, not Kobe, who was the MVP for the Lakers during their title runs. It was Hakeem, not Clyde or anyone else, that was unstoppable and needed the ball for the team to win. The Rockets have a great big man in Yao and TMac is the great sidekick who will help the big guy win a champioship. If TMac is true in what he says, this team could very well be winning a title very soon, because they're both entering their prime and complement each other. All we need is a decent supporting cast around them to step up and know their roles on the team, like defense; rebounding; and shooting.

mac gets double and triple-teamed also. it's not like it's a decision for him to make most of the time. when he has a double-team all the way out at the 3-point line, what's he supposed to do. they can try posting him up, but that puts all 5 defenders on mac and yao in the middle.

this is where i think v (for vendetta) can help us. he's the only rocket with enough balls to drive. that's what this team has been missing. this message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

I don't buy for a second that T-Mac's scoring is down this much because of choice. How come his efficiency is the worst that it has ever been? When players in their prime take a backseat, their efficiency usually rises. T-Mac's shooting 41% and 30% from 3, right around his career lows. If he can be a 20-6-7 player on near 48% and 37%, I would be more inclined to believe him.

say what u want, but the truth is that mcgrady has been UNABLE to take over games.

its true hes unselfish and all that, but he just lost that ability, that magic touch that made him the superstar he was.

unless he regains it, it will be dissapointing tough loss in the playoffs once again.

It would seem so at this point. Pretty scary man considering he's still good and all, but his ability to just turn it on seems like its not there SO FAR this season. That was something truly special. The ability to be dormant one second and tearing up the defense the next is amazing, and T-Mac hasn't been showing it this season.

But this isn't any regular season for Tracy McGrady. This is his first season back from a devastating injury that decimated both his and the Rockets season last season. I'm sure he's not quite ready yet. If it doesn't shape up in a month or so, then i'd start to get pretty worried.

I wouldn't worry too much yet, i'm sure he'll get it back, we're still winning at least. Thankfully Yao is a beast.

Both of Yao and T-Mac's personality are not the right type for Leaders.
Yao is getting better, you rarely see him complain and scream after he scored in his beginning of the career
