The Former Majority Association for Equality is offering a $500 scholarship to those who meet one eligibility requirement: “Male – No less than 25% Caucasian“: The application for a $500 scholarship from the Former Majority Association for Equality looks pretty much like all the others out there. Well, except for this eligibility requirement: “Male – No less than 25% Caucasian.” Yes, the Texas-based nonprofit organization has launched a scholarship for white men. Members of the group, which goes by FMAFE, say they aren’t racist and “have no hidden agenda to promote racial bigotry or segregation,” according to their Web site. Instead, they say their goal is to provide financial aid to white men who might not qualify for other scholarships. “FMAE’s existence is dedicated around one simple principle, to provide monetary aid for education to white males who need it,” the group’s mission statement reads. In addition to being white and male, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and “demonstrate a commitment to education, and substantiate financial need.” FMAFE insists “it will not accept money from any organization affiliated with white supremacy or hate groups.” Indeed, like the all-white basketball league, FMAFE says it is not promoting “racial bigotry,” but merely giving a leg up to this continually overlooked demographic.
You only have to be 25% white. So, I am guessing Barrack Obama, Blake Griffin and Shane Battier would all qualify. Would be fun if a bunch of people of mixed heritage applies. Does the 25% thing also work for the male part?
Don't know about the race part, but as less and less males enter college, we're pushing towards an open policy to make campuses more "diverse". This is awesome though. For years, AA and scholarships has carried the either/or stigma of genius or impoverished/inferior with most people generalizing a strong bias towards race as the determining factor. It's good that whites took what's theirs.
I'm black, and I would possibly be able to apply for this. I know I have European ancestry....maybe not 25% but I'm close lol
I saw something not too long ago that indicated that about 33% of the African-American genome is from white Europeans. How, exactly do you "prove it" for the scholarship?
It is suppose to be opposed. So it can goto the supreme court. If it is ok'd More scholarships 4 white folx. If not. Use the precedents against all other scholarships Ie. Affirmative action ones. If successful More scholarships 4 white folx. Win 4 them either way. Rocket River

then they will do another. . and another. . and another until either they so prevalent that they may outnumber other scholarships or until they get the 24 hour news networks to take notice Rocket River
I think a private group like this one can offer scholarships to whomever they want with no legal implications.
