Henry Bekkering Height: 6'6 Weight: 215 Vert: 40 inches Trademark Dunk: left leaner in the lane <img src=http://www.basketballjones.ca/highschool/spc2003/dunkimages/HenryBekkering21.jpg> If he didn't have gator arms, we could call him "Air Canada."
if I was six six, I could dunk like that too. I have somewhere around a 23-25 inch vertical, I think?
So, of course, Bekkering's signed with a I-AA school to play football. As a kicker. http://athletics.ewu.edu/02-03News/03fbfeb7.html (He'll play basketball, too.)
Thank you for posting that. I hate when people say they could dunk like those guys if they were that tall. You could dunk, but not like that.
Wait, if you're taller, you're whole body changes it's shape and proportions. For that matter, your genes would be completely different, so, when one makes the blanket statement that if they were taller, they could dunk like that or they could play a professional sport, all they're saying is that 70% of it is genetic, the rest is hard work and dedication. Personally, if I had the 70% , I know the other 30% would be there.
Back when I was in shape I think it was around 38"....so I would be a couple inches shorter. Either way I had good hops.
Track work helps alot. Squats, thrust, power lifts and believe or not aerobic work helps alot also. The more air you can intake into you system can help you getoff they ground. Some people are blessed by strong legs or what they call quick-twitch muscles, but you can always become a better athelete. T-Mack, although he was already a high riser, went to Chris Carters F.A.S.T. track program which enables your legs to stay stronger a lot longer which also helps. If you look at any sprinter in track, most can jump out of the gym because of leg strength which equals explosion.
