With Yao out due to injury, and Shaq moving back east to Cleveland, there are still some notable centers in the West (Stoudemire, Bynum, Oden, Okur, possibly Chris Andersen), but who really has a legitimate shot at making the Western all-star squad?

If we assume players like Tim Duncan and Blake Griffin are Power forwards (since that's their natural position), who would you pick to make the team?

Personally, I think Stoudemire is a clear starter, but who's his backup?

With Yao out, I think guys like Duncan and Gasol may make it at C.

Garnett has played SF in the past and Kobe has played PG so they don't have to match their natural positions.

You missed Al Jefferson, Biedrins and maybe even Kaman if he bounces back.

I was just naming a few players, but anyway, I guess Gasol could and will probably play C for the Lakers when Bynum sits. Jefferson is a pretty good pick, but I think Biedrins and Kaman would be longshots.

    Gasol.
    Al Jefferson?

Wow. Without Yao the Western Conference is weak... in terms of centers.

I do too. I was just listing players that had any remote shot. My mind was on the thread in the GARM. Somebody actually posted that David Andersen has a shot to make it. I kid you not.

Possibly Gasol or Jefferson. Maybe Duncan, depending on what they consider him.

The only reason Kobe was a Pg or KG being a small forward was because they were voted in the categories as guards, in popularity too

The centers I believe will be Bynum and Al Jefferson or Duncan ( DUncan is either a forward or center it varies each year)

Possibly. I just don't see Nene being an all-star calibur player. But, with Yao being out, it could happen.

My money is on Amare if he plays center for the Suns this year.

I think the spurs are playing Tim Duncan at center, so if that happens he will start center in the all star game, with Stoudemire being his backup...

    My predicted starters
    Duncan
    Nowitski
    Durant
    Bryant
    Paul

It'll be interesting to see how the voting goes this year. Now that fans from China can't vote for Yao, maybe they'll vote for Andersen lol.

If there is any justice in this world, it will be Al Jefferson.

Okur has a chance of making it. I want Al Jefferson to get there.

Out of all the remaining centers, definitely Al Jefferson deserves it, followed by Gasol.
