Something that I've started doing recently is reading weblogs. There are some really good ones out there. Two of my favorites:

    1. Mark Cuban's weblog, at blogmaverick dot com. His topics range from business ventures to politics to statistical trends of NBA refs. He has an excellent piece up right now on "effective shooting percentages", which talks about how Mitch Hoiberg is the most efficient shooter in the NBA due to his mastery of the corner three pointer, which is the highest probability 3-point shot available. He also talks about how the Spurs have taken advantage of this shot. Interesting read to say the least.

    2. Anonymous lawyer dot blogspot dot com. An absolutely hilarious take on the crap that goes on in law offices. Although I'm not a lawyer, the same types of hijinks take place in other service industry environments that I am more familiar with, including consulting and investment banking offices. Anybody who works in an office should enjoy this weblog.

The other stuff that I read is mostly college baseball related stuff.

Does anybody else read weblogs? Which ones?

Does Maddox count as a weblog?

I don't really know what the exact definition of a weblog but I guess it's when people give their opinions over the net. The guy just has funny commentaries about things.

is the corner 3 pt shot the highest probability 3 available based on statistics or just distance from the basket? i'd take the straight away 3 from a little farther out over the corner anyday. but then the corner 3 is usually open more often.

It's funny you bring this up because I've been getting more and more into reading weblogs. I even started a lame one of my own about raising our two kids, but it's boring to me so I probably won't continue it.

    A couple of my favorites:

I've also been reading this one this week from the sports writers at the Philadelphia Inquirer:

    http://superscene.blogspot.com/

They've had some pretty funny stories from Jacksonville.

I like reading those 12, 13 year old girls weblogs.

Just because Justin, or Scott broke up with them, the rest of their lives is over, and they cannot go on and continue living. Those are the damn best.

    Umm, not like that.
Look, I read blogs from livejournal, and xanga, and other various blogs, and I look at random people's thoughts.

I remember channel 2 KPRC did a thing about that, and for five bucks a month I can stalk people.
