The Lakers team hands down. Their frontcourt would destroy the Heat's. I mean your gonna have a prime Shaq and a pretty decent Malone going one on one vs. The RuPaul of Big Men in Bosh and a old Big Z. Also Kobe at that time > LeBron and Wade.
that Laker team didn't even win, they lost to Detroit.. hard to judge before we see the Heat's teamwork.
4 HOF beat 2 HOF and an All Star. BUT That Lakers team had a toxic atmosphere and they never got on the same page. Rare instance where a heavy favorite in the Finals got destroyed because a couple starters openly quit. The Heat are going to be on the same page. I'd be awfully worried about what they can do. How many teams have the personnel to guard James and Wade at the same time? Double one of them at your own peril. Best bet is to pack in the lane and live with 40% shooting from mid-range and beyond all game. Evan
I think that was kinda the point of the thread. Everyone is quaking in their boots about the Heat roster, but history has an even stronger paper line-up that lost because of chemistry. So, since they haven't even played ONE GAME yet, there's no reason to fear since we can't see how the chemistry shakes out. Personally, I think the Laker roster is better just with Shaq and Kobe. Payton and Malone were both pretty old by then. Helpful, but 90% of the strength of that roster was Shaq and Kobe. In the Heat's defense, they had chemistry problems before Malone and Payton showed up. So there's hope yet for the Heat.
Why do people keep bringing up the fact that the lakers had 4 HOF players on their team? Payton and Malone were not in their prime.
