T-Mac and Yao or Harden and Howard? Also all in their primes or early prime for Harden.

Not sure if Tinman will come in again but T-Mac and Yao were amazing in their prime

Injuries unfortunately wrote the last chapter of the Yao and T-Mac era. Things could have been different.

Let's say injuries wouldn't be a factor for either, which duo would you take for the chip?

Young Akeem and Uninjured Sampson. It's unfortunate we only get to see glimpses of Ralph on youtube. I think those two could of been the best.

These threads are funny as Tinman himself....namely not very.

We need better role players and consistent production from our superstars

Tracy was Parsons and Harden in one package. Yao was just a beast. Aside from injuries and Yao's lack of athleticism, I don't think either had any flaws in their game, when both were in their primes. But I could be wrong.

Harden just cannot play defense and Dwight can't be counted on every single possession to score. McG and Ming all the way.

I think Yao was able to carry us in 4th quarter situations, and at times Mac could just go off more frequently than Harden can IMO.

They both have there pros and cons.

But ill take Yao and Mac.

A Harden Yao tandem would have been sick.

There isn't a option for this but I would take T-Mac and Dwight.

Healthy Yao at his peak was 25.5ppg and 10rbs + 2blks a game beast in the post... with 80+ FT % and a 10-15' shot... and an assortment of natural low-post moves... Incredible footwork, especially for a man his size... He could out-maneuver guys smaller and quicker than he was...

Healthy T-mac at his peak was a top 5 player in the league, and back to back scoring title champ that *gasp* had impressive court vision and could run an offense... plus average just over a block and steal a game, give you six or better boards a game... He also never had a season where he averaged over 3 TOs a game... And only once in his career hit the 3 mark... nor was he ever made to look like a lackadaisical novice on the defensive end...

Dwight and Harden? It's not even close... They come off as a consolation prize in comparison...

    The current team needs competitors.

I will go with the big that came back from an injury to will the Rockets over the dominant Lakers & the pre-quitter version of Tmac.

Yao + Tmac are way better basketball players than Harden + Howard.

Injuries + poor supporting cast + refs .. timing was never right.

I miss the Jon Barry / David Wesley Rockets team so bad though!

That series we won :D - even when the supporting cast finally got good, we still carried Tmac's rotting $23 million dollar corpse and lost both Yao and Deke in the playoffs ...

In a 7 game series with no injuries (lol) I'd probably still take that Yao / Artest team over what we have now. That team had heart.
