I finished playing Final Fantasy X a little while ago and have been starved for a good RPG. I'm thinking about a lot of them, and any suggestions as to which one I should get would be greatly appreciated. If you need an idea of what I like, here are my favorites in order: 1. Chrono Cross 2. FFVII 3. Chrono Trigger 4. King's Field II 5. FFX 6. FFT 7. King's Field 8. King's Field: TAC
I can't trust anyone who puts Chrono Cross and FF7 so high on their lists and mentions not of the SNES FF games! I'd say go for Lunar or Suikoden III, you can't go wrong there. Stay away from Grandia and Wild Arms, blech!
I'm surprised you have Chrono Cross so high, especially since you also seem to like its predecessor, Chrono Trigger. While a so-so game in its own right, CC was a terrible sequel to CT. The plot was boring and repetitive, characters had almost no development, and what miniscule tie in there was to the original game was incredibly disappointing. Just about the only thing it had was pretty graphics -- oooooh. But enough of that, here's how I'd rate the games you have listed: Skies of Arcadia: never played it, but it received excellent reviews Suikoden III: have you played Suikoden 1 & 2? Lunar SSS Complete: an old-school RPG reminiscent of the SNES Grandia: fun little game that can probably be picked up for cheap Wild Arms: you probably won't like this one If I were in your position, I'd go with Skies of Arcadia (though I voted for Suikoden 3 in the poll before really thinking about whether or not you played Suikoden 1 & 2).
Don't sell your DC! And buy the best RPG ever made period, Skies of Arcadia. I have played the Final Fanasty series, Chrono Cross(not that good), Chrono Trigger(awesome game , almost as good as Skies of Arcadia) and many other RPGs.
if you've ever played either of the first two suikoden games, suikoden 3 is your choice DEFINATLEY. the suikoden series is by FAR my fave video game series. it kicks ff's ass. its so underrated. go with suikoden III
try to get a hold of Grandia 2 for the DC, that game rules. Skies is good too, though the frequent random battles got on my nerves fast, esp since a huge part of the game is exploration. Grandia is cool too, though it starts out slow and the PS version is very buggy. Shadow Hearts for the PS2 was pretty damn good, and it was only like 25 bucks. Oh, and don't sell your DC.
