There are a lot of fans upset about the dreadful record to start, so I'm curious... Who are you happy with so far? You can pick as many as you like.
I'm not sure why there isn't a none of the above option. nobody on this team has honestly performed well enough to remotely qualify as happy with
Green, Sengun, KJ Martin, and Tate. Almost tempted to put DJ Augustine in there but haven't seen enough yet. I have my thoughts on KPJ but right now I'm of the firm belief that Christian Wood is dragging this whole team down into the abyss with terrible shot selection, poor positioning, awful screen setting, matador defense and abysmal free throw shooting. I actually want to see this team play with KPJ and without Wood at all. Others that I never want to see play again are Nwaba and House.
Tate and Martin have made good strides, I feel like they'll both be extremely valuable for a long time. Tate looks like he's improved his passing and handles but regressed on his 3ball. There's also just fewer open shots so it could be that, it's just 2%. Perfect small forward, compatible with Green. KJ just seems to play like a young vet, consistent energy, team player, awesome shot blocker, efficient scorer, and 3ball is getting there. Green and Sengun have shown enormous potential, although Sengun is further along and Green has a high ceiling with his speed, quickness and work ethic. Eric Gordon has been healthy and scoring/shooting well. That's great for his trade value.
Sengun has been the best Rocket so far this year, and he's a ROOKIE. Gordon's hot 3 point shooting has been a pleasant surprise. Tate has picked up from where he left off last season. KJ is one of the only players on this team who takes it strong to the basket. Just needs more minutes.
Sengun KJ Tate 1st tier even though they also make a ton of mistakes EG has been okay too. The rest of the starting lineup is just a mess with flashes of good.
Rockets-wise, Al-P, KJ, Gordon and Tate have usually made me pretty happy. Green has shown flashes that excite the hell out of me. KPJ has a looong way to go as a lead guard, but his potential is still tantalizing. There are silver linings. More than a few. But they're behind a cloud of emulsified greasy sh*t-water that puts a stink on everything it touches. A few wins and good games from KPJ and Jalen would lift the stench somewhat, though...at least for me
I can't believe EG is the only logical choice here lol. Only because he's having a much better shooting year and he has quietly been suffering through being on the worst team in the league without pouting
Expectations? Gotta play the vets to trade the vets, ‘cept JW. And too many kids to develop all simultaneously. A rough year, or three, to view. I’ll still be here waiting on the other side when the reemergence unfolds. You?
