Just trying to get the speculation going. The Rockets haven't gelled enough to protect them from trading. It seems likely someone will be traded...

Francis is a BYE... I guess I'll add Yao even though he's untouchable.

Most likley it would be Cato becuase his value is up and could be a beast in the east, & moochie has no trading value so i dont see that happineing

realgm...by no means the official say...won't let you trade him cos of a bye clause....something to do with him being in his first year of a new contract i think.

someone else probably knows more about this...

That doesn't mean that you can't trade him it just means that he has byc status.

You actually scared me for a second.

I don't think Steve will get traded untill the offseason anyway, but it's nice to know the option is there.

How about Jeri Welsch, Chris Mills, Chris Mihm and a 1st for Steve Francis.

    Why?

Jeri Welsch is going to be outstanding in my oppinion. I think his outside shot is going to be much better and much more consistant than Steve's. I think offensively speaking that he will work better than Steve with in a JVG's system because he does not appear to free wheel much. I don't see him making a lot mental errors. He is not the talent that Steve is and I don't see him as the type of player that can put a team on his back the way Steve can but I see him more as a Brent Barry type of player. This would also remove any contriversy about who's team this is and who should be the primary option.

Chris Mihm has turned into a solid player off of the bench. He shoots a decent percentage and can play PF or Center. He rebounds decent and can block shots. He could give us the freedome to move Big Kev if a deal came along for a center that can rebound and play Defense.

Chris Mills is nothing more than fodder to make the deal work.

A first round pick could help make up for other draft failures such as Eddie, Langhi and Collier.

The real benifit from this deal is that it forces our team to except its new identity and puts Yao Ming in the position of being the leader of the team.

Welsch has great potential but he hasn't proved nothing yet. Chris Mihm looks ok in the east, but he looks ok at in the EAST. The most valuable thing in the proposal is Chris Mills's expiring contract. Anyway, it's just too much risk to trade an all-star for these guys.

The word is that both Francis and Yao are untouchable. Saying that, the Rockets will be making a huge mistake if the trade Mobley over Francis. Mobley is getting it, and he looks like an ideal fit in JVG system. Francis just doesn't work in this system.

What about something like Francis and Mo or Cato for Allen, B Barry and Ridnour. Bring Mobley off the bench and groom Ridnour behind Barry. We would still have to look for another big man though.
